Clear pictures October 6, 2009 Librations I bought this book for one simple reason: it was recommended in the Ortho-bionomy course I am taking and indispensable during a workshop that required us to study the visceral organs.
As a relative newcomer to the world of human anatomy and an avid map-reader (!) I do not claim a comprehensive knowledge of alternate options. However, this volume suits my needs very well.
I have a few other anatomy books, among them Gray's and a few books of anatomical illustrations. I find Gray's useful for working with the Netter and getting a better understanding of functions. The other books I simply find confusing.
What I like about Netter is its unmistakeable clarity and thoroughness. Atlas is great descriptive. It tells you how to find stuff! The pictures are gorgeous and clear enough to make sense to a beginner, but sophisticated enough, I would think, to satisfy a more advanced perspective on the human body. So far I have been able to find whatever I need and it has been extremely helpful in my ongoing studies.
