Great Reference January 2, 1999 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Being a medical student I find the Merck Manual a great reference. It would seem complicated for those who are not familar with medical terms but if you are looking for more info on conditions, diseases, etc. this is the place to get it.
Wonderful Reference!! December 8, 1998 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is truly a wonderful reference for those of us who want to know more about illnesses and medicine than we hear on the news or from a doctor. It can be a little difficult to read with all the medical jargon, but if you weed through it, it is a very helpful and knowlegeable book. My mother was a nurse, and we were constantly looking up things that we had heard mentioned but were not really explained to us.
Great Legal Aid September 22, 1998 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Doing personal injury and worker's comp. work, I often need to look up particular symptoms and injuries. This book is well indexed, easy to use, and as of yet has had everything I ever needed. It also cross refrences itself very well.
Excellent, compulsory in my office, everyday's reading. August 25, 1998 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've got all editions since 1972. It used to be renewed every 5 years. Now I'm furious as there isn't yet fixed date for seventeenth edition. Reason?: extraordinary summarized compilation of medical theoretical and empirical updated information! Not a single line is redundant or vane.
