Really useful! April 26, 2009 Lindsey Rieder (Boston, MA United States) The anatomy coloring book is drawn with great detail and set up in a very useful way for kinetic learners like myself to remember anatomy. It is well organized and clear. A great way to learn or review for an exam!
The Best Anatomy Coloring Book March 27, 2009 Marjorie M. Collier 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used this book in teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology for more than 20 years. (I have tried others and found them not as graphic and clear.) Recently I gave a copy to my daughter who is taking that course (not with me) in preparation for becoming a physician's assistant. She, like my students, is finding it very helpful.
The more senses that are involved in a learning process, the more effective it is for understanding and retention.
USEFUL FOR "BUYING UP" March 2, 2009 Warrior Mom (Illinois) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book on recommendation for homeschooling a very bright homeschooler (6th grade) with attention issues. So far, it's been helpful but also requires quite a bit of tweaking to make it presentable for his learning level.
We knew that this college level book would need some distilling, though had hoped it might be a little easier. There's still a lot of useful material!
Very good study aid February 28, 2009 Nicole Schumacher (Simi Valley, CA) I ordered this book to help me with learning muscles in the human body.... and it is very very helpful. Unfortunately this book doesn't have tear out flashcards like some other coloring books i've seen, but this does do a very good job of helping you visualize where the muscle is, and the origin and insertions are. I would recommend this!
Great tool for advanced students February 12, 2009 samanthadootlebug (San Francisco, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Different people have different learning styles and this is excellent for those who need to do more than just read about the subject. Coloring the pictures gives the student an insight into how the parts fit together and interact as well as providing a memory aid.
It needs to be used as a study guide in order to get the most out of it- giving it your complete attention, even though it is "just" a coloring book. It works best with a large selection of very sharp colored pencils, not markers or crayons.
It is suitable for some middle school students, but high school aged and above will get the most benefit from it.
