4 out of 5 stars Greg and Maura   December 20, 2006

The book Lunch Money by Andrew Clements illustrated by Brain Selznick is about a little boy and girl. The boy's name is Greg and the girl's is Maura. Greg and Maura are trying to outdo each other.
Maura and Greg are both very interested in money. Greg started to sell gum, candy, and toys at school he got in trouble. Then Greg had a very good idea to sell comic books. Maura was also selling comic books. In the book it seems like Maura is a little bit smarter then Greg. A teacher talks them out of selling comic books because they became too competitive. At least that is what Mr. Z,the 6th grade teacher, thinks.
I think the book Lunch Money is a very excellent book. My favorite part in the book is when it takes you back to a time when Maura tricked Greg's mom. It wasn't too easy or too hard. It was a funny book. So if you are looking for a book that you don't have to work hard on to understand. Read Lunch money!

5 out of 5 stars Read this book! By: AM North Boulevard   December 18, 2006

My book that I read was Lunch Money by: Andrew Clements. This book is about a boy who was selling junk at lunch for kids to buy and so that he could make money. In the summer (after school ended) he saw a girl who was selling pot holders, she was trying to make more money than him (she is doing that because they've known each other for along time and don't get along). So then that made him jealous and he started making comic books that made fun of her. Read this book and find out more. This book would be a 5 star rating. That's because it has funny parts and it's a good book to read. Also I recommend this book for anyone who is an Andrew Clements fan because he is the perfect author.

5 out of 5 stars Katie's Review   December 4, 2006

I liked this book because the two kids, Greg and Maura, stick up for what they believe is right .

In this story Greg and Maura make these two comic books and sell them at school, but the principal finds out and they're not allowed to sell them at school. Maura sees that the principal lets books and comic books be sold at school from the book club and shows Greg. They find out that there's a school board meeting on Thursday so they go to it and talk about their comics. Does the school board let them sell the comics? Read the book to find out.

I would recommend this story to someone who wants to sell something at school. I would also recommend it to people that are any age because it's an awesome book.

5 out of 5 stars Great book!   November 29, 2006

This book is really great for anywhere up to 6th grade. Another book that I loved as well is "Did You Ever Wonder..." by Brendan Lynch. After my boys read Lunch Money they dived right into the Did You Ever Wonder... book. I love it when my boys read instead of video games!

Lunch Money is about a boy named Greg. Greg loved making money. He can do whatever it takes him to get there and be rich. Now Greg has a new idea. Everyday Greg sees quarters every where. He could earn a fortune! What used to be the boringest place on the planet is now the BEST!

From my point of view this is a very intresting book to read. It grabs you in and won't let you go until your all done. This book teaches you that anyone can make money. My favorite part was when Maura came door to door selling pot holders. Ilike this part because I think the idiea of selling pot holders is really nice.

The author, Andrew Clements, has made tons of other books like: A Week in the Woods, Janitors Boy and many, many more!
