Interesting read, a bit redundant June 21, 2009 W. M. Barber (Augusta, GA USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I haven't finished reading the whole book, I am half way thru. So far the book has been good, a lot of insight into the history of OCC and why Paul Sr. is the way he is and what drives him to success.
Paul is an amature writer and it shows, however the person from the publisher workng with Paul should have made up for this but it didn't, on OCC it was said they were rushing this book and I think they rushed a bit too much. There are chapters that reexplain topics that were talked about in previous chapters.
That being said I have enjoyed the book.
A rather boring ride... June 17, 2009 Merlin (Ogden, UT) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
My wife and I religiously watch the "OCC" TV series, and we expected the book to be more like the show, so we were somewhat disappointed. The book is about Mr.Teutul's experiences in life and what made him the successful businessman that he has become. While there are things we can all learn from "The Ride of a Lifetime" if we were about to persue a small business career with a desire to become something more, the book left us a bit flat. We appreciate all the obstacles in Mr.Teutul's life that he overcame and is now the big, likable, chopper-riding teddybear-come-businessman, but the book proved a bit overbearing and repetitious. Mr.Teutul, you have built some of the most beautiful bikes in the world. THAT is your calling.
Great Book June 9, 2009 B. Benson Jr. (Danville, PA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great book. You learn the aspects of building a business from the ground up and the things that every business should be doing. Plus making it interesting at the same time with real world examples of the struggles through life and business.

Not as interesting as I thought it would be June 8, 2009 Carol Brooks 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Wish he had included more information about the business today. Loved to hear about how he brought his business up from the ground floor and the decisions he made to get there but felt he left other important decisions out like why he actually chose to let Paulie go and what he felt about Vinny. This would of shown more into the aspect of his business and thoughts. People who have watched the show, I feel would of been more interested in some of the decisions he made since being a success.
