Nicely written - clear and concise summary of what they don't teach you in business school May 8, 2009 El Queso Grande (Edmond, OK) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I've been in the M&A industry for many years and wished that I had read this book right up-front. The title is "Investment Banking" but it could easily be called "How to Understand Investment Banking Well Enough to Work in M&A." The authors laid out the basic valuation principles in a straightforward, logical manner. A great book to have if you are interested in buying businesses, selling businesses, understanding what your business is worth and how the world of Investment Banking views your business. It took me years of experience to nail down what this book gets across in less than 300 pages.

This book replaces the volumes of financial texts I have on my shelves. It has everything...

This book is superb for professionals or novices. Whether you're an institutional or individual investor, I would suggest this book for developing, enhancing or perfecting your finance skill set.
Great For New Hires May 8, 2009 M. Rosen (Cleveland, OH) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought the book for my cousin who was fortunate enough to land an investment banking internship this summer. She said it was exactly what she was looking for, especially given that she comes from a liberal arts background.
Perfect for MBAs May 7, 2009 S. Calliste (NY, USA) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
As a business school student, I recommend this book to anyone who is seriously thinking about working in finance and wants to gain an edge. I picked this book up last week and read through it in one weekend. It was a great review of the fundamentals of valuation and included many topics applicable to today's recessionary environment.
