Bogle shows clearly the moral failure of our modern society. This is way more than about mutual funds and investing, it is about our survival as a leading nation and culture in the world. A book to read to your children and explain to them why you, and they, should be honest and fair in dealing with your fellow man.
Reflections of a sage curmudgeon ... January 20, 2009 Kevin Quinley (Fairfax, VA) 6 out of 12 found this review helpful
A decent collection of reflective essays. I don't want to spoil the party or p--- in the punchbowl, but I always find it amusing to be lectured to by multi-millionaires on how "money isn't everything.."
The opening quote that captures an exchange between Kurt Vonnegut and Joseph Heller is alone worth the price of admission and sums up the gist of the book.
A fitting book for the times. January 14, 2009 Carol Ann (Toledo OH) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I think this is a great little book, explaining both the history of Vanguard, and factors related to the current financial crisis. The autobiographical aspects are very interesting as well. I am "passing it around" to family and friends. Hopefully people will learn from it individually, in regard to their own finances, and globally, to prevent recurrences of the present situation. I consider it a part of my teenage daughter's "personal finance" course, in which I am homeschooling her, in addition to the class she takes in high school.

i'm not much into reading non-fiction but this book is a must read. john bogle is a financial industry leader who shoots straight from the hip. if you are like me and the wall street meltdown is affecting your pocketbook; read this book. it's insightful and a wake-up call for consumers. I wished it had read it sooner.

He has done it again. John Bogle has a knack for getting to the heart what the issues are, and suggesting intelligent attitudes and answers.
"Enough" is a great book from a great man.
