Couldn't put it down! August 27, 2009 Debra A. Kordek Great story! I was in my local bookstore and another customer highly recommended this book. I came right home and ordered it from Amazon. I didn't want to put the book down. Couldn't wait to read it thru to learn how all the "pieces" came together! Wonderful descriptive characters. It certainly provides an interesting account of Secret Service, FBI actions and the First Family. This book would make a good movie, as well. Looking forward to Mr. Baldacci's next book.
Disappointing, for Baldacci August 20, 2009 Steven Samuel (Yardley, PA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had this one solved halfway through. The plot lines were a bit transparent. The only mystery was how things were going to get ironed out in the end.
The series featuring Sean King and Michelle Maxwell are not on a par with his "Camel Club" series, as far as I'm concerned.
Politics, espionage, and mystery permeate a wonderful, gripping story August 18, 2009 Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) Ron McLarty is an actor and author whose voice has moved many audio audiences, and is the perfect pick to narrate the gripping saga FIRST FAMILY, revolving around a daring kidnapping at a Presidential birthday party at Camp David. Politics, espionage, and mystery permeate a wonderful, gripping story.
First Family by David Baldacci August 17, 2009 P. Smith (Ozarks) We thoroughly enjoyed the audio version of this book. Ron McLarty did an excellent job reading the book and kept the characters separate and distinct. As usual, Baldacci has turned out a superb book and taken us a step further in the relationship of Sean and Michelle. While he is not always kind to our government and its employees he does turn out an plausible storyline that in reality would never be allowed to happen.
FIRST FAMILY August 17, 2009 Baldacci does not disappoint with yet another Sean King and Michele Maxwell thriller. A real page turner.
