Sookie sellout? November 3, 2009 Lisa Gibson (Michigan) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although I love the Sookie Stackhouse books, I was a bit unimpressed by the time I finished this one. I almost feel as if this one was churned out because of the show. There wasn't very good development of new characters and favorites from past books are hardly to be seen. I really feel Ms. Harris could have put a bit more effort into the book. If she continues with the series, I hope she returns with the engaging Sookie from I enjoyed from the previous books!
I really liked it... November 2, 2009 KIS (California) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I know a lot of reviews didn't like this one as much as previous books in the series, and I was expecting to be disappointed, but I loved it. Yes, it was darker than the others, but Harris let the characters evolve in this one. After all, how many books can there be where Sookie gets almost-killed a bunch of times then goes right back to being her perky self with no changes in her life?
PS a lot of Eric in this one, for those that like that aspect...yum.
Great! November 2, 2009 Mia Feliciano (New York, NY) 1 out of 5 found this review helpful

Great Book November 1, 2009 Kokkinos (Ohio) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed the last of the Sookie Stackhouse series. I wish for more of the Sookie novels. Charlaine Harris is an excellent writer. It is so easy to read her books. Once you start reading the Sookie novels you can't put it down until it's done.
Reviewers are "Dead and Gone" in their reviews October 30, 2009 spiritoffire (San Antonio, TX) 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
First off I was glued to every page. This is a real page turner just like all the Sookie books in the series. I am addicted.
I can't believe all the bad reviews. This isn't classic literature people, it is a southern vampire series. The editing is off I agree but one reviewer said she was bored. How she got bored is beyond me. Pregnant women got murdered. Well they do in real life also, as do little children if you listen to the news. So you are mad that Claudine , a favorite character, got murdered. We all have loved ones in real life die. It is fiction but also based on life. Reviewers are mad because Charlaine Harris veered in a direction they didn't like. She created Sookie so she can take her where she wants to.
True Blood is Southern white trash as its BEST. Well done Ms Harris!!!
