a satisfied customer February 19, 2006 A. Phillips 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
I'm a new nurse and as such have much to learn in my field of practice. This book will help me to grow in my understanding of the labs and tests that my patients need to diagnose and care for their health needs. I'm excited to begin using it.

Excellant!! So nice to just order online and not burn gas to go to the bookstore. The book arrives within a few days and it is wonderful. Thank you for the convience and savings.
2nd year med students dream September 1, 2005 Chad A. Ruechel 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
As a 2nd year PBL (problems based learning) med student I have found this book to be excellent. It provides in depth information on many standard tests. It does a good job of integrating physiology and even explains false highs and lows.
best for Pagana & Pagana March 17, 2004 16 out of 22 found this review helpful
I own a similar reference to this one done by the same authors and is very good but not as good as this one. I have this one available to me in two work places and I'm tempted to buy this for myself. If you need a reference such as this, get this one.
Qualified usefulness for medical transcription December 2, 2003 MCK Rennolds (GA, United States) 13 out of 24 found this review helpful
I had this book recommended to me as a transcription terminology aid. It is very limited in that function. It is obviously a very good book for those who will be performing tests, but not as much so for those of us transcribing the results. It is useful for providing context to help you infer what type of test or range of results you may be listening for, but you will need a book specifically for terminology once you have narrowed it down.
