Poorly written October 20, 2009 Whoever was in charge of continuity fell down on the job. There were so many little errors that made this book annoying. I felt the authors were just throwing words on a page and not paying attention.
Too gruesome October 19, 2009 Barry L. Strauss (DC) I did not like this book. I seldom do not finish a book I start. I will add this book to the list. I did not finish nor care about any of the characters
Ick, Ewwww, Yucky October 16, 2009 quilty (Tulsa, Oklahoma) I love most of Patterson's stuff, I love it. This dreck, not at all. This book is unnecessarily violent. What killer hunts down the parents of his victim, puh-leeze? Patterson and Paetro should have voted themselves off the island. I could not even finish the book that is how bad it is. Sorry James, you have to do better than this is you want me to keep reading.
An All-Time Low October 12, 2009 C. Hutchinson (Silver Spring, MD USA) Since so many reviewers have summarized the plot, I won't bother to do so. I had sworn off Patterson a while ago when he even made the Alex Cross novels boring. This book is the end! It was beyond repulsive and disgusting: it was insulting and offensive. It seemed like the authors got more vile with each chapter. What did it for me was what happened to Kim's parents. That was entirely unnecessary. Are we to believe that these intelligent, decent people, not knowing if there daughter was dead or alive, would just go off with a stranger? Unbelievable! And the demeaning depiction of women as airhead nymphomaniacs was just too much.
I have thrown this book in the trash without finishing it. Mr. Patterson now joins Patricia Cornwall and Karin Slaughter as authors I would not read even if someone gave me their book free!
UGH....It's so bad it's embarrasing October 10, 2009 Susan (Eastford, CT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can't believe that James Patterson would put his name on such a bomb! I am a big fan of his and this is just the worst book....others have already expressed it better than I can, so I will just say: "Don't bother"...I wish I had put it down long before I did, but I am one of those people who just hate to put down an unfinished book.
Please, Mr. Patterson, don't write any more trash such as this; your reputation is at stake.
