Very interesting book to read February 8, 2008 tiantianxiangshang (Bound Brook, NJ United States) This book is very interesting. My 3.5 boy loves all the role games described in the book. Language is ok.
IMAGINITIVE PLAY AT WORK December 14, 2007 CHERYL ANN (SOUTH JERSEY) I'LL GIVE THIS BOOK TO A KINDERGARTEN BOY, BUT I THINK HE WILL LIKE IT FOR A LONG TIME. THE VOCABULARY WILL BE A CHALLENGE, BUT HE WILL GROW INTO IT. I KNOW HE WILL LOVE RO HAVE HIS MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER READ THIS TO HIM FOR YEARS TO COME. FIREFIGHTERS ARE NOT THE ONLY OCCUPATION INCLUDED. THE JOBS RUN THE GAMUT. THE COLORFUL ILLUSTRATIONS BEAUTIFULLY PORTRAY IMAGINITIVE PLAY AT WORK. 'LITTLE SISTER' IS INVOLVED IN EACH WORK EPISODE, TOO. IT IS A LOT OF FUN TO SEE EVERY DAY OBJECTS USED IN SUCH CREATIVE WAYS!!
Great book! July 22, 2007 Pamela S. My 3 yr old loves this one. We've read it many, many times. He loves the illustrations too. A very sweet book and a great addition to your child's library!
great for children & teachers November 27, 2005 F. Counts (delaware, oh) My son happened to bring this home from his school (1st grade) library one day and he was crazy about it! Plus the next day, I had to do a lesson plan on jobs for my 3rd grade class. I was doing what clothes and tools we need for certain jobs. I always bring in a book pertaining to my lesson, so I brought it in. They absolutely loved it! It became very predictable of what the boy would say to his mother and they really thrived on that. These are the types of games they play with their siblings, parents, and friends. It really interacts with the children and their favorite activities; letting them see what and how they look while playing these games.
Definately a plus at home and in the classroom-very easy to read with big print and repetition of words-plenty of already made lesson plans out there for it.
A must buy! July 3, 2004 oceanmom4 (Pleasanton, CA United States) This is an excellent book. The wording and pictures are perfect for my 3 year old. he enjoys hearing and seeing the little boy pretend play all the different "hereos" with his little sister and mom. The book is not long or too short. It keeps his attention and sometimes helps him to fall asleep. I agree with the other parent, hoping that Maclean will publish another book soon.
