Time was quickly disappearing before I needed to head back to school but the backpack arrived the day after I ordered it! It's an amazing backpack, tons of space; unlike LL Bean backpacks, the 2nd-largest compartment is deep enough to be useful. My only wish would be to have a laptop compartment in the back.
Note on the color: I ordered guerilla green. When I ordered, amazon.com had two different pages for the backpack and they showed the color being different. The guerilla green is the darker one of the two - not lime green. It's a beautiful, beautiful backpack!

Going to a school with a large campus, I needed a larger backpack to carry around three classes worth of books at a time. The JanSport Classic Big Student Backpack easily holds this amount of books, plus it has handy compartments to carry pens, a planner, personal items, and other small objects. Also the design of the bag distributes the weight of books more evenly that my last bag, making it easier to carry. The only drawback to the backpack is there is not a separate compartment for a laptop. This is a great bag for college students, but may to be to big and bulky for high school students and younger.

My daughter just started middle school (no lockers) and needed a large backpack to hold all her books, materials, lunch, etc. She absolutely loves this backpack as it is enormous and sturdy!
Huge Hit with Backpack September 15, 2009

Searched all the stores in Bay Area and couldn't find anything 7th grader female liked! Lots of pink and brown this year. Decided to look on internet and checked Amazon. She picked it; she loves it. Came fast. Blue is more up her alley, hides dirt, and plenty of room for notebooks and lunch. P.S. Her last Jansport lasted 3 years, and she still uses it for overnights. Said she had to have a new one this school year!

Lots of space in this backpack. There are numerous pockets, and it it sturdily constructed. My daughter needed it for school as she goes through a new backpack each year. The price was, of course, much better than you could find in a retail store.
