This is just what it's described as. A big backpack for students. And, as such, it works wonderfully.

Great backpack. Very sturdy, plenty of space, comfortable. This was for a friend and she loved it. I have the same one but in navy blue. I bought it to replace the same model I bought 11 years ago. One of the zippers -of the old one- finally gave in after 11 years of heavy use. Jansport is a great brand. If this backpack lasts as long as my previous one, I'm all set for a long while.

numero uno: i used the free shipping for this item and i received it THE NEXT DAY. i can't imagine using amazon again if they didn't give me next day shipping for free!
as for the backpack: it's not the perfect backpack for me, aesthetically. but it is comfortable and large enough to carry a laptop, a large jar of chunky peanut butter, four large file folders, a spanish textbook, a bottle of water (full), a power cord, mouse, jump drive, pen, pencil, ethernet cable, sweatshirt, notecards (2 packs), headphones, checkbook, moleskein sketchbook, etc. And there was room for twice as much.
all i'm saying is that it seems like a pretty sturdy and practical backpack. and it's hard to find sweet backpacks.

i order this backpack, but when i did receive this , i end up sending it back to amazon, because it is not that big , as it sounds, , i found similar product from staples , bigger more roomy, then this one for similar price, , offcourse with high school students they carry ton load of books, and other things, this is not a proper bag for them , i had almost all products from amazon as described, 100% satisfaction, but not this one, as far as quality of jansport goes i donot down it, because i use it everyday for office, with airlift shoulder backpack, and since i had ordered other back pack, amazon charged me for the shipping on this , so i mean the credit i got was less, which also was negative for amazon and me both, i always like to buy things from amazon, but i was not happy on this one since i had to end up returning the purchase and then instead of full credit , i had to pay for shipping them the item back, wishing all readers happy and healthy new year, we are very close to christmas

Good quality - carries many heavy textbooks without too much strain. Quick delivery as well.
