GRIDâ„¢ Is all about the race- that period from lights to flag; full of tension, pressure, noise, and action.

GRID will take players to beautifully realised and dramatic race locations over three continents to compete in an unprecedented variety of racing events. Packed with the most powerful race cars – new and classic, circuit and drift – players will compete to conquer the most prestigious official race tracks and championships and then go beyond to compete in challenging city-based competitions, through to road events and urban street races.

In Europe, race gamers will compete on the greatest official tracks in prestige Marques including Aston Martin, Koenigsegg and Pagani. Iconic cities across the U.S. – including San Francisco, Washington DC and Detroit and each with their own atmosphere and events – play hosts to diverse street races. Here, high-performance V8 muscle cars set the pace in aggressive closely fought pack competitions.

In the Far East, Japanese racing culture sets the tone where night races, including Drift racing, take drivers through neon illuminated cities and to outlying mountain roads. There is also the opportunity to compete in races that operate on the fringes of legality in the back streets and industrial areas of Yokohama.

5 out of 5 stars one of the best   March 11, 2010

Loved this game.

Very different from need for speed because of vehicular damage, but yet a vary vary sweet racing game, with some awesome cars and tracks, and some top notch competition.

4 out of 5 stars Great for the money   February 21, 2010

The graphics in this game are superb, but what many people dont understand before buying this game is that how good it is depends on how good your computer is. If you dont have a good graphics card or fast processor then dont bother. I dont understand why people complain about this game being too hard...? If the easy difficulty were any easier then it wouldnt be a game anymore! I beat the whole thing using my keypad- the way it was meant to be played; or with an xbox controller. It is not a simulation game, but is very entertaining

2 out of 5 stars Blue Screen of Death!   February 7, 2010
Knute Anderson (Reno, Nevada U.S.A)
Fun? Yes! Playable? Yes, if you have the right controller. You need the X-Box 360 wired controller to play it the way it is supposed to be played, (according to the directions anyway.) I tried Logitech and that did not work for me. I did get good results with the X-Box 360 wired controller and was able to finish a race. 12th place but I did finish! My main gripe is with the BSOD, ( blue screen of death) I get after a couple of minutes of play and then, the blue screen pops up and re-starts the computer. I read it may be due to the sound card, ( Creative Labs ) but not sure how to correct it. Funny, the demo works fine. If you have a different sound card, it may work fine for you. The game itself is a blast and the damage is the best I've seen in a race game of this type. It was sooo fun going around a corner and crashing two other cars while passing them. Or coarse it didn't last long as I totaled my car and had to quit. Best played on PS3 as the computer has to be fine tuned for this game.

5 out of 5 stars Grid - 1st class   February 1, 2010
TB1 (Florida)
Grid is a nice combination of arcade-type fun and pure simulation. Not too complicated for those who want some fast action without having to totally tune the cars, yet enough options to satisfy those who want more than just start n drive. Graphics excellent with a good video card, physics good enough for this type of cross-over game. Well worth the price, especially now that Grid 2 is out.

2 out of 5 stars Weak AI   January 27, 2010
J. Faith (Philadelphia, PA USA)
Not a bad arcade-ish racer, but the poor computer artificial intelligent in the open wheel races makes this undriveable. Computer controlled formula cars slow and swerve erratically for no reason on straight-aways and routinely crash into you making it unlikely that you'll finish a race let alone win.
