there is no single player campain only a short tutorial after that its all set up games against the ai or others online pick one of six contries nukem to the stone age its very easy to customise with mods and if your to lazy to take 5 minutes with photo shop or gimp theres a number of difernt looks you can set for anything and everything and change teritories borders ect in mine i have two i made that include australia no new mods avalible on there site or the more well organized unoficial site but its easy to do its good for some one to play now and then its not most likely gona keep you intrested in playing for hours and hours at a time unless you set a ww3 kinda game were you vs ai or other play each with 3 teritories and your goin at the slow time speed 5 outa 10 not bad not great

From a retro gaming standpoint, I really have enjoyed this title. Good game, and I recommend it to those who enjoy a good strategy game.

The most intreging game I have ever seen since the C64 days. This game leaves you spell bound for hours on end. Use the Tutorial Demo to help you get used to the commands and launches. I would rate this game DEFCON at 150% above all my expectations

4 out of 5 stars An Amazing Thermo Nuclear War Strategy Game!   March 4, 2008

If you like strategy games, this is the game for you.

A bit lacking at first in the area of graphics, but you can download free MODs that include a detailed topographical map of the Earth, a Nuclear Space battle between a few different planets, and an entire list of other mods.

This game is almost designed as Openware and there are a LOT of mods available both official and unofficial.

Once you load it you can give the cd to your friends to load as well because you don't need the cd to play.

It almost feels like an old stripped down Military Strategic Training simulation...so there is no problem with realism.

2 out of 5 stars Not what I expected   February 8, 2008

This game is simply not what I expected. I was looking for more interaction and not only a strategy game.
