2 out of 5 stars Need to read and be older for this game   January 15, 2009

This game is very frustrating for early kids ... you need to be able to read, the menus and options are not easy to understand, the mouse is difficult for little kids. The other cars game is better for little ones.

3 out of 5 stars Like it but the controller setup is a pain!!!   September 26, 2008

OK, I got Mater National after my kids had a great time with the Cars PC game. For it, we used a Logitech Precision controller. It was automatically recognized and the buttons configured when we selected the controller in the setup. Now, I get the Mater National game and attempt to use the same controller. It recognizes it, however, the buttons are not configured correctly and you cannot steer the car. So, I go and attempt to customize the setup. Sure enough, the "Steer Left/Right" settings for the touchpad are recognized as different buttons on this controller. Now here is the kicker. My controller has 10 buttons, yet the game needs 16 configured settings and it won't let you save the configuration without specifying the controller buttons for all 16 settings. So, I can't use the controller that worked on the previous version of the game. Pain in the A**! Well, my kids will have to be happy with the key board (annoying), or I am going to have to find a controller with 16+ inputs. Just be warned ... Your game controller must have 16 inputs to work with this game on a PC!

This game is great! Four of my children play this, ranging in age from 5-13. They never tire of it! It's one that doesn't get old. HIghly recommend for good, clean fun.
