5 out of 5 stars Great Mouse   October 20, 2009

This is my first bluetooth mouse that I have kept. I tried one several yrs ago and I couldn't get it to work. This one was so very simple to set up and pair with my MacBook Pro. This mouse is comfortable and compact enough to travel. A must for a laptop mouse.

3 out of 5 stars Slow to wake up, and don't get the white one!   August 4, 2009

Bought this mouse for $28 in January '09. It didn't require any drivers, and the computer recognized it without difficulty. It's a pretty bare-bones model -- has left, right, and scroll buttons, and that's it. The scroll button does not click or tilt. It has a nice feel to it, and works well. Battery life has been good, even though I never turn it off. I think I have changed the batteries once -- note, though, that other mice don't require 2 batteries at a time. For me, there are 2 big downsides to this mouse: first, as part of the power management of the mouse, it goes to sleep if you're not using it for a few minutes, then takes a several seconds to wake up again. It's not a long wait, but it's getting a little annoying to have to move the mouse around in circles four or five times whenever you start using it after a break. The USB wireless mice I have used do not have this problem. Second, the color is horrible -- formerly white, but after 8 months of daily use, parts of it have acquired a spectrum of unappetizing colors ranging from brown to gray, and it appears to be uncleanable. I am replacing it for the grunge factor alone. I like that it doesn't take up a valuable USB slot, so will replace it with another bluetooth mouse (NOT white!), and hope that the delay with another model is not as bad.
Addendum -- I replaced this mouse with a Logitech bluetooth mouse. It also has to wake up after not being used, but takes a tiny fraction of the time the Proclick takes. If I could change the number of stars on this mouse, I would downgrade it to a 2.

5 out of 5 stars If one must mouse, then why not this mouse   July 19, 2009

Very impressed with this mouse, although not claiming to be a mouse expert.

I will have to say, it would be nice if I could figure out the scroll wheel. Got this and a new netbook delivered to me while on an extended vacation, so I haven't set down to try to figure out the little things just yet. But love the color, and it seems to be responsive enough for my needs and doesn't drain my rechargeable batteries too painstakingly.

Probably not the best thing in an office environment given its red, but definitely an eye catcher sitting at your local coffee house.

If I happened to break or lose it, I'd be buying a new one to replace it, pronto. I heart this product.

2 out of 5 stars Lasts Just Until the Warranty Expires   July 13, 2009

Well, this product worked great initially. It quickly paired up with the laptop, and worked well for about 10-11 months. After which point, it quickly disconnected and reconnected to the laptop every few seconds, rendering the mouse unusable. Upon contacting Razer for support, they tried to guide me through reinstalling and reconfiguring the mouse, which was of course pointless since I have done that a multitude of times. Still, they're just doing their job. They then said they will email me an RA (return authorization) form. 40 minutes later, I called them up again (and waited for another 10 minutes on the phone) to remind them to email me that form. They shortly did just that a few minutes later.

Now, in that form, it requests that you have some sort of receipt. If you bought this mouse from their website, all well and good, they should have some sort of record. If you bought this product from a store, then you had better keep that receipt for as long as the warranty lasts, or at the very least make a scanned copy of it. Unfortunately, most people do not keep their receipt for more than 1-2 weeks unless they are expecting their product to fail.

After explaining my situation to razer support, saying that this was bought in a store many months ago, mentioning that most companies do not have this policy of providing proof of receipt, my reasoning fell on deaf ears. They simply copy and pasted from a section of their website saying that they must see a receipt. They did not show the intention of even reading my email nor honoring their warranty.

Well this is one company I will not buy from again.

4 out of 5 stars Good mouse but a bit pricey   June 12, 2009

I Have used this mouse with windows os x and ubuntu. I works well in all with no lag but windows sometimes has a hard time seeing it(the intiial connection). Not so with other os but it works well once connected. I use only rechargeable battery's but they last a few weeks before I need to change them.
This is the best mouse I have ever used in almost 20 years but AI took a star off for the price. I think its a bit high.
I should have said I have used this for about 6 months with no problems.
I got the red but I think I would have liked black or white better but its not a bid deal. A Keeper.
