Hoyle Casino 2008 is an entertaining and fun casino software package that will actually help improve your game play in the tutorial mode. Lots of slots, video poker, and table games to choose from. You can also edit if you want to play with others or solo at the table games, and you can adjust the sounds, attitude, and speed of play. A very fun gaming software!

 Hoyle Casino game doesn't work on Vista machines April 9, 2009

These Hoyle games by Encore are supposed to play on Vista machines, but they do only about 10% of the time. It would appear that Encore took over from Sierra, which may be why the quality has gone down. If you have Vista do not chance buying these games. I've tried the Puzzle & Board, the Card, the Casino, and the Mind Quiz Games on three different Vista computers. The result was identical on all three computers, except that on two of them the games did not work at all. The games are so sporadic that I gave up and removed them.
Bottom line; don't waste your money unless you are running Windows XP.

I purchased a downloaded version of this product, and when playing the "Progressive Fruit Slots" game, found that the reels don't match up with the fruit. I contacted customer service via email, and was sent a link for a "patch" which I thought would correct the problem. It didn't. So I sent another email inquiry to customer support (and subsequent emails afterward) and received responses indicating that I should contact the manufacturer about the problem. I then purchased the CD, and the CD version of the game had the same problem. Further, I've been playing the Hoyle 2008 slots since August and have yet to hit a jackpot, unlike the 1999 version, which in my opinion, is definitely better than the 2008 version. I suggest you save your money and not purchase the 2008 version. You may be as highly disappointed as I am.
