5 out of 5 stars Great mouse, not just for gaming   November 12, 2009
Ravi Chandra (OK, USA)
I first had a regular microsoft mouse, so when I replaced that with this, it threw me off. Once I got used to this, it feel really natural.

This mouse is NOT going to make you a Quake 3 rail gun champion, but it will definitely add comfort to your gaming. Now that I am used to this, I cannot go back to a regular mouse. I thought the price was a little steep, but its a quality product.

Must buy for gamers.

2 out of 5 stars Piece of Crap for High Sensitivity Gamers (Acceleration Sucks)   October 7, 2009

Ordered a Razer Death adder from TigerDirect because my Diamondback recently broke which I absolutely loved. At first I had problems with the drivers (getting the mouse to detect with razers software) but eventually fixes those issues when installing in safe mode in WindowsXP. I'm completely unsatisfied with the DeathAdder because its software acceleration merely switches the original windows "enhance pointer precision" on and off which is an absolute lack of quality on razers part. I found moving the mouse slightly in close quarters the cursor sensitivity was too high and when trying to move the cursor from one end of the screen to another the mouse sensitivity was way to low. I'm a high sensitivity gamer and the deathadder seems like a great mouse for those who "enjoy picking up and lifting the mouse off of mousepad" (repositioning) during their gaming sessions. I tried as much as possible to tweak the settings of the mouse so that it would run smoothly but it just wouldn't budge. I wasn't comfortable when playing DotA "Warcraft III" at all but Counter Strike:Source in close quarters wasn't too bad. I also noticed a lot of skipping with the mouse when trying to drag the cursor smoothly across the screen. To test this open up MSPaint or Photoshop and drag a smooth paintbrush across the screen in a circle. You will notice lots of choppy skips and unsmoothe edges, terrible for precision, you don't want to try and use a sniper in CS with this mouse.

Overall I recommend this mouse to any kid who likes low sensitivity mice. But if you love fast mice with ultimate tracking and smooth precision STAY AWAY. I'm going to order another Diamondback.

1 out of 5 stars Best of feel, worst of performance   October 2, 2009

Razer, I am done with your products.

This mouse like all their other products have been the best looking and best feeling input equipment I have ever owned. However the reliability of this equipment is horrible. Over the past year alone two of their keyboards and two of their mice have developed hardware flaws preventing their proper function. In the case of this mouse the mouse started to list in an upward direction whenever I would stop motion.

Unacceptable performance, even worse customer support. Love the look and feel but for this price the thing needs to actually work.

5 out of 5 stars It adds death to my kill rate, that's why it called the DeathAdder   September 19, 2009

I first found the Lachesis at a Future Shop and it was on sale for the price of the DeathAdder, I bough the Lachesis first and brought it home, it had some nice features......But the buttons had to be pressed very hard all six that is, the wheel was to small and took more effort to roll(very clicky), and it felt like crap, not comfortable at all, If I had very small hands, or I was a lefty, then maybe I would like it. Not a bad mouse, just not for me.

That day I took it back and swapped it for the DeathAdder, and Thank God I did. It feels fantastic, the, and to be honest, most people do not need anything above 1800dpi, just because the dpi is higher does not mean it's better.

The software it comes with is pretty cool, although I don't know if I'll use it as much as one would think, but it's there in case I do, and cool to show to people that are clueless about PC peripherals, they get blown away.

It's glows blue very nicely, and look great next to my Belkin n52te (that glows too), it's such a great combo.

The DeathAdder is a very solid mouse, the only thing I don't like it the Profile button is on the bottom. Otherwise just awesome overall.
