5 out of 5 stars Beat-up 5 stars Saitek PS 33 box   October 27, 2009
unknownsongwriter musiccomposer (ca u.s.a.)
i bought the Saitek ps33 joystick for my son's gift and also for the use of his iL2 Sturmovik 1946 dvd game. Fast UPS ground delivery-thanks, but i was very dissapointed when i received the box, the Box was deformed, badly beat-up. The joystick Saitek ps33 in the box was still very lucky, not damaged still intack & works so very good, no problem at all so far & very smooth flying & landings etcetera, i can still give 5 stars for the Saitek ps33, but minus (-5) stars for the Saitek ps33 beat-up box.

Very easy to use and smooth with arma 2 game, have a great time flying with it.

3 out of 5 stars DUAL THROTTLE   September 23, 2009

Dual throttle is great works well has a button to make it one movable piece.
The switch style buttons are a new and unique feature each switch can have two buttons assigned, one for up one for down.
No way to keep the joystick secure to the table or what ever it is you keep it on.
The mode button isn't really that useful unless you decide to install the software and clutter you computer with possible performance degrading processes.

My husband is loving the Saitek Joystick. He is becoming a Master of the Skyes. He really enjoys flying the Jets. The Joystick is easy to setup and use. It handles very well and provides hours of entertainment!!

1 out of 5 stars A lousy product with almost no instructions or tech support   September 14, 2009

Purchased this AV8R-02 saitek for Xbox on Amazon. Will give it one more try and if it won't work like advertized it is headed for the dumpster.
I'm useing the stick with an Xbox 360 and it is actually more sensitive and harder to control than my wireless game pad was.
The skimpy instructions tell you to set the the mode to the M2 setting for Blazing Angels 1 and II. Yet one has to constantly alternate from mode M2 to mode M1 and back again simply to keep playing the game.
The sensitivity of this joystick is not at all programmable as far as I can see.
Further, I will admit that I am not an expert on the stick's functions and they tell you absolutely nothing about what "LB, LSB, RSB and RB" are supposed to do and
there is also nothing on the Saitek website that will tell you.
Finally, the FAQ on their site has nothing...that's right, nothing on the AV8R-02 for Xbox...check it out!
My opinion: Microsoft should find another manufacturer to produce a compatable controller that really works because this one absolutly sucks!
This is my third Saitek controller and the first two worked fine. If this AV8R-02 Xbox version is typical of this company's future products I will avoid them like a plague.
