Product Description
Dr. Aiden Krone is a former professor of Applied Physics at MIT, notorious for his unrivaled brilliance and obsession with Thermodynamics, Advanced Propulsion, and Quantum Electrodynamics (QED). Despite his increasing tendencies to demand control and secrecy, he became the Founder and Lead Physicist of a classified Time Travel research program. Over a decade later, Krone's program had successfully developed the world's first time-traveling suit technology. However, as the program's equally secretive decision-makers demanded this technology be adapted for military applications, Krone's feelings of self-entitlement and anger grew. He secretly desired a new existence, a new world where his scientific endeavors could be shaped and experienced without outside interference. The combination of Krone's mind and his suit technology gave him the ability to create and control another existence - an existence where a man of science could finally operate without restrictions and do so within a place where science itself was properly respected¿ regardless of the effects on humanity. It is now up to you to trace Krone's last known appearances and stop his tyrannical rule over Alpha District. In a twisted world where scientific accomplishments reign, it's up to you to don the Beta Suit and Master Time to Become the Ultimate Weapon.

4 out of 5 stars Very Good Shooter   October 13, 2009
D. Durs (Louisville, KY)
I picked this game up for less than $10 -- a bargain. It was very entertaining. The graphics were good. AI was good. I have no complaints. You get the hang of using the time feature very quickly and definitely use it to your advantage. If there is one issue -- you can play nearly the entire game only using the Thunderbolt and time pause. The levels are fairly large and diverse. I highly recommend this game.

4 out of 5 stars Unique, similar to Crysis   July 23, 2009

This is a first person shooter with time manipulation as the focus. You can SLOW, REVERSE, and STOP time. You have to use your timeshift abilities in order to progress through certain parts of the game, usually a simple puzzle here and there.

This game was a challenge even on easiest mode. I died many times. And had to stop and think about how to use the timeshift ability to get past certain parts (reminded me of Portal). You can only hold 3 guns at a time along with grenades, and melee attack. You don't need medkits in this game, your suit will regenerate itself (similar to Crysis). There are ammo caches scattered through-out the maps, which will fully reload all your weapons, which is nice. You can drive in 4-wheeler ATVs and control turret-mini-guns at certain points of the game. There is also a radar, which tells you where to go, so you stay on track which is nice.

Graphics look really good.

Concerning gore and realistic violence, it is okay. You can't really blow people's heads off or do cool headshots. You can gib and explode enemies but only with the RPG and higher-end explosive weapons. Each weapon has an alternate fire. There is a hellfire/flamethrower weapon, however the bodies don't cremate or turn to ashes, they kind of just light on fire and fall to the ground. Could have had better gore.

Software Issues/Installation:

It has SecuROM (7.34.0014), however no online activation or install limits.

With my ATI card I noticed either dropping frames or graphical corruption, turning the settings to "BEST" fixed that issue.

System Requirements:

Minimum:
Windows XP with latest service pack installed or Vista
Intel Pentium 4 2.0Ghz or AMD equivalent
1GB Ram
8x DVD Drive
8.0GB of free space
128MB DirectX9.0c compatible card with Pixel Shaders 2.0b support (NVIDIA GeForce 6600/ATI Radeon x700 or higher)
DirectX9.0c compatible sound card

Recommended:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 / AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
2GB RAM or more
A Sound Blaster X-Fi or equivalent
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS with 256MB RAM or equivalent

5 out of 5 stars this game rules the FPS's... kneel to it's greatness! O_o ^.^ :P   July 15, 2009

i love this game!!! it's the best fps i've ever played! and i've played quite a few.

the graphics are great, and it runs very smooth on almost any platform, even with the graphics at high.

the story is really cool, and kinda creepy, in that "sends chills down your spine" kinda way. and there's a twist at the end... it kinda makes an opening for another one, which i hope they will make.

the gameplay is sooo easy, the only downside is that you cant use a gamepad:'( >.<

the music is good. i think they shoulda used a bit different music, but that's just my opinion.

the replay ability is pretty good... i mean i've played it like 14 times... no problems yet.

and the icing on the cake... your character has this really cool suit... you never have to use a medi-pack, ever! and you get to control time...its sooo awesome!!! i would pay good money for somethin' like that! :)~ ^.^

if you like awesome fps's, this is the best you can find! well so far... i haven't played a few of the newer ones, but i'm sure there not as cool as this one!

4 out of 5 stars A pleasant surprise   July 1, 2009

I've played a lot of first-person shooters, and having played the old demo for this game, I wasn't expecting too much. I was wrong. It feels somewhat like Half-Life 2 in terms of pacing, but the lows aren't as low and the highs are higher. The weapons are fun and sufficiently different. If you make too much use of your time shifting powers you will likely find the combat too easy, so I tried to limit its use until I really needed it.

The story wasn't very involving, but the action was a lot of fun and the time-based puzzles were somewhat interesting and not too taxing. The enemies are a little tiresome (mostly different types of soldiers), but the AI isn't too bad, and there were some interesting behaviors like jumping over objects and flanking. There are two time-shifting enemies you'll fight but I don't want to ruin it for anyone by describing them in more detail. The game changes things up pretty decently, with some "on rails" shooting and driving segments.

There's not much to complain about here. The length is decent but not too long, the graphics are decent, some environments are at least partially destructable, the physics are decent... overall just a solid effort. If it had a more memorable plot, a less anti-climactic ending, and a little more enemy and puzzle variety, this would have been a top notch game. As it is, I still recommend it whole-heartedly.

5 out of 5 stars Fast action FPS pc game.   June 14, 2009
L. Adkins (Central Oregon)
I am starting the game for the fourth time. 2nd time on the hardest level. It is a very intriguing First Person Shooter PC game. Really keeps you on your toes and thinking. Great weapons. AI's really try to get to you and are very life like.
I am very satified with the game.

Amazon is a great place to do business. I am 73 years old and am impressed with the store.
Thanks, Larry
