Guild Wars Nightfall November 3, 2009 Janie Jaggars (Lamar, Mo. USA) I am almost 60 years old and am not a gamer. My 23 year old is the gamer of the family.
A friend of his came over one day and asked if he would like to try this game out. He said sure. I watched, played for a bit and I was hooked. I may never play another game, but I am going to try to get the other games in this series.
Guild Wars Nightfall October 22, 2009 Benjamin Collins (Allentown, PA, USA) This is strictly PvE viewpoint, I don't play PvP.
I bought the original Guild Wars and Factions 3+ years ago, loved it, got a real job and ended up not playing for a couple years. I saw that this was the last campaign before Guild Wars 2 (Eye of the North is expansion not a campaign) so I figured I would try to get into the game again.
I'm glad I did! The Heroes system is SO much better than using the henchmen and/or relying on crappy PUG (pick up groups). Granted the gameplay hasn't really changed, the skills are generally the same as always just a different name now. There are more higher level 26+ enemies which make the game more exciting. The storyline is the same old thing, gotta stop the bad guy or else, etc.
If you have multiple characters you will hate Nightfalls redundancy. Just pick ONE character play it all the way through, then go to your others. It's beyond annoying doing a primary quest that has 4 or 5 minor quests inside of it; more than once, let alone FIVE times. And you get one of those scenarios at least TWICE.
Anet as changed the game that you can't just have someone run you to the missions and you beat and move on. You have to do the quests to unlock the NPC in the outpost to allow you to enter the mission. (in the past you get to an outpost and you have an enter mission button no matter what).
Overall, GW is a great free monthly game and if you find a nice guild to join it makes it that much better.
The Best Guild Wars Stand Alone September 8, 2009 Olorunsegun A. Adewumi (State College, PA) Unarguably the best guild wars pack out there. Gorgeous graphics, great storyline, plus a host of new features. If you're a fan in the making, or an old veteran coming back Nightfall is where you want to start. Besides who doesn't like the Paragon and the Dervish, finally a few good melee classes to round out the bunch. Can't really say enough about it. This is to guild wars, as an action movie sequel is to the original; more explosions, bigger car chases, you get the idea. Read the other reviews for the big improvements. If you like guild wars or even thought about trying it out, this is where you want to start.
Greatest MMORPG ever! August 14, 2009 Josh Leger (US) Guild Wars is the greatest Massive Multiplayer Online Roll Playing Game that I've come accross. It's a cheap game to buy, and it's free online play. The run rating of this game I can easily rate through the rough. If you're familiar with the game World of Warcraft, I would definitely suggest this. Several of my friends have quit that game to play this. WoW can be very expensive: $15, as well as other games or online services can be say $5 a month. This game is free play. And with the expansions to the game the fun is easy double, tripple...ect. I have all of the games now, and they don't get old. I've been playing it for over 3 years now. Note that the game is for people of all ages around 13 years of age and older. I would definitely suggest this game. Also I can definitely say that Nightfall (second expansion) is alot more fun and introduces MANY amazing new features with a great campaign.
Guild Wars is AWESOME August 4, 2009 J. Hole (Celina, OH) When we received the game it DID NOT have the key with it. But after notifying the seller, we received it via email. Thanks!
This game was purchased for my son's friend, since my son already had the game. Now they can both play online . . . they have a blast!
