the joy of flying October 5, 2009 James R., Lyon (Metairie La.) I have been waiting for the rudder controls for a long time since computers have come to the home as a young child I learned a little bit about flying from my dad when he had a plane so when Microsoft came out with flight sim X flying just got to be the best now with the rudder peddals and the yoke its just like flying a real plane thank you for all you have done to bring this to me
Great rudders! September 5, 2009 Charles W. Stout (Phoenix, AZ) I have the yoke and 3 lever throttle, the rudder pedals and 3 of the saitek Flight instrument panels and the Pro Flight Switch Panel. They work GREAT!
They are HIGHLY recommended.
I only have 2 complaints..sometimes all the panels don't get started at the same time (probably due to the USB power requirement) so I have to unplug them and replug them...but it's usually just 1 of the 6 devices.....mostly the yoke itself.
The other complaint is that there is no HSI option on the flight instrument panel...maybe in a driver upgrade.
These change the usablity of FSX from tedious to truly enjoyable!
Probably better than anything else but NOT perfect August 13, 2009 Lycurgus (Oklahoma) This beats the twist axis of the Saitek x52 stick, and is probably better than other rudder pedals. Do NOT expect this to feel at all real if you're a real-world pilot -- variable resistance (force feedback) would be very useful here to simulate the actual resistance of moving the rudder pedals in flight. For some reason, the toe brakes get stuck. Haven't figured out how to fix this. If you just play flight sim, these might be exactly what you expected, but if you're a real-world pilot looking for something that will simulate your costly hobby/profession, this will likely disappoint.
I do have the Saitek yoke and throttle quadrant to go with this. It is very good. I also have a TrackIR v3 that I cannot get to work satisfactorily. Maybe the newer revisions of the TrackIR work better.
My two cents... June 4, 2009 J. L. Hickey (WA, USA) Saitek Pro Flight Yoke with Three-Lever Throttle (PZ44)Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals
Happy with the product, NOT with the documentation. I haven't hit some of the compatibility glitches mentioned in other reviews, but have found the instructions for programming the controls dense and not real helpful. A glossary defining some of the jargon would be a welcome thing. Lots of trial and error have allowed me to begin to get a grip on the functions of the controls. I suspect my satisfaction will continue to increase as I experiment more. Both the Flight Yoke & the Rudder Pedals definitely need to be programmed to function correctly. I'm using MS Flight Sim X, flying the Grumman Goose, in Vista.
Pro Flight rudder pedals May 14, 2009 J. A. Piatak (Council Bluffs, Iowa) Simple, yet effective. Operated right out of the box. Didn't need to use the CD that came with it, my PC loaded it no problem. A bit of confusion (mainly on my part) on the operation, but once I figured it out, what a blast. It mimicks the actual pedals/rudder function of the aircraft. Using MS X what a change from a joystick. I highly recommend this if you're a serious simulator junkie like me. My hats off to Amazon for selling a great product at a great price.
