G11 Keyboard Review November 16, 2009 D. Groeschen Well this is the first time I've ever purchased a gaming keyboard of any kind. I have to say, I am very impressed with its layout design and overall performance. The keys are very smooth under your fingertips. Typing is a breeze. The "G" button has pre-bundled software that assists you when creating/assigning keys. I love the feature of being able to press a G key and having an application start-up. The only real downfall that I have is the wrist resting area is just a simple piece of plastic. A simple $4-7 investment on a real cushion for your wrists is recommended.
Overall, I give this keyboard a 4 of 5 stars
Excellent Keyboard; Macros... Not So Much October 30, 2009 Raymond Genandt (Flagstaff, AZ USA) The base keyboard on this works really well- the keys are responsive, the media controls are decent, and all the buttons are sized and spaced well. However, the macro system leaves something to be wanted. 54 keybindings per game is actually a pretty huge amount of overkill, I've come to realize. The macro buttons are also a little hard to use during certain games. However, I can see how some people might use them, and therefore I can't actually say that they are worthless. I just find them to be a whole lot less useful than I had originally hoped for.
G11 keyboard October 29, 2009 E. Concors (TX) The keyboard G keys are non functional in certain PC Games.
I also use it for text, letter writing and macros.I love the lighted
keyboard, what ever you do purchse a lighted keyboard.
Overall if your not a gamer the G11 saves lots of time.
I purchased it for a good price,so I can't complain.
I see that logitech has come out with newer game keyboards.
Comfortable, Useful, Simply the best keyboard ever. October 22, 2009 J Vorndran It doesn't have the bells and whistles of it's older brothers, it doesn't have the flash that other boards have, but if your looking for a gaming upgrade to your run of the mill board that came with your computer, this is it. Macros on the side made me buy this board for multiboxing and fragging people faster, but I've found it's a very comfortable typing keyboard too. It looks solid, works well, and even after my first G11 met an untimely end with a full cup of coffee (almost no keyboard can survive that, and it even still worked - till I needed to use an n,m, or comma), I looked around for about a day and came right back and bought another G11.
The G15 and G19 have less macro buttons, the reason I bought the G11 in the first place, and who needs an LCD screen on the keyboard? I have dual monitors as it is. Keep it simple and effective and I'm sold. It'll be a sad day when they discontinue this model. Other boards just didn't have the smoothness and comfort, sacrificed for design. The G11 is big, but it's a no nonsense board.
Nice Keyboard. October 13, 2009 John Fountain I love this keyboard, I like the key feel and its not that loud. Good quality construction. I love the fact that I can turn off the windows key, thats what sold me on this one. If I had one complaint it would be that the blue back light on the keys isnt that bright in certain lighting conditions. Awesome keyboard though.
