Excellent November 21, 2009 J. Johnson (Newbury Park, CA USA) I bought this metronome for my son who play's the violin. It is a must for any student, but also the student that is playing advanced music and needs to have multiple beats at the same time. For instance, you can have a quarter note beat with a sixteenth note beating at the same time, etc...Also this metronome is such a good price for what it does!!!
useful tool October 11, 2009 sak (Prescott, Az) I use this metronome with special needs children for various movement activities, both passive and active. They seem to enjoy it, it helps to focus them and makes the work more entertaining.
Excellent value for acoustic guitarists! October 6, 2009 D. Henson (Chicago, IL USA) The Korg name has a great reputation for it's other products and the Korg MA-30 Compact Digital Metronome caries on their well earned reputation for affordable tools for musicians. I purchased this on the recommendation of a friend of mine that is a guitarist. I have tinnitus in both ears and needed a metronome that I could adjust the volume on. When I first tried the Korg MA-30 I was pleased to discover it had a pleasant chirping tone (unlike slightly cheaper digital metronomes which have an annoying mechanical and rather percussive ticking tone. Anyone with tinnitus can attest to that problem. The result is that rather than provide a steady background beat to follow one teeth are set on edge!).
For that reason I would not recommend this for musicians who need a louder beat. This metronome is, however, perfect for acoustic guitarists and has a great range of features for a great price. It is small and is the same shape and size as the Korg tuners which I also highly recommend. It will fit in most pockets of guitar cases and you can take it with you for rehearsals and will fit on your music stand. It also comes with a little stand on the back side of its casing that can be pulled out so it can be set on any flat surface such as a desk or table. I also like that it is colored blue, so that I can distinguish it from my tuner which also is a Korg and has the same design. Buy it. It's a great value.
Korg MA-30 October 5, 2009 Fred Mendoza (Chicago) Excellent product. I am just a beginner piano player, but it gives me all the controls I need to get my timing correct, plus many features I foresee using in the future. The display is easy to read, the controls are ergonomic, and has good volume that can be heard even when I have my keyboard turned up. It is also pretty sturdy, because I have dropped it a couple of times and no ill effects so far.
I have several October 1, 2009 Jaymis (Eastern USA) This device does everything one could expect for a highly portable metronome. I keep one handy in various places that I practice. As mentioned, I have several and have never experienced a failure, other than battery replacement which doesn't happen often.
