Magazine Subscription thru Amazon November 14, 2009 Jacek Macias 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This isn't Playstation magazine review but rather complaint about Amazon's poor Customer Service regarding magazine subscription.
I wish I could review this magazine but promised delivery date of October 26, 2009 came and went.
I contacted Amazon and was told: "Your order was placed through an independent sales agency and it will be necessary for you to contact them."
They did not elaborate who is "them", no name, phone number or e-mail address.
It did not occur to Amazon that, maybe I do not have time or inclination to do the work of their Customer Service.
Well, so much for entertaining an absurd idea of buying magazine subscription thru Amazon.
Sorry folks for venting my frustration, but I couldn't help myself - hey, I got an email from Amazon encouraging me to review my "magazine purchase".
A Solid Publication November 7, 2009 Tom Mosgrove (Kentucky) I typically would purchase The Official PlayStation Magazine each month at the store. Over time I have found that the magazine has become a very good resource for information regarding the PlayStation product line from Sony. In addition I enjoy some of the other articles and spotlights on technology and products that fit the gamers' lifestyle. The only negative, which can be said of a lot of magazines, is the review section. While larger titles get feature articles and they can justify the ratings, they use a 5 star system, some of the smaller titles or titles that are cross platform, get smaller write ups, and if you, as a consumer are on the fence about whether or not you would enjoy the title, or it is a waste of your money, it is hard to make the call based on a short article and a star rating. Overall the magazine is a solid and informative read, however, I wish they would revise their product review system.
A great source for all your PlayStation needs!!! October 11, 2009 M. Prunty (Los Angeles, Ca.) While we are in the age of the internet and information being leaked and revealed ahead of schedule for companies, its nice to know that there is a quality magazine out there that caters to the PlayStation universe without compromising information or creditability just to increase their userbase. Quality articles, in-depth game reviews and informative responses to questions of gamers make this magazine a welcome addition for a source of media for PlayStation fans.
don't be mislead...... August 13, 2009 GameFAN HCGamer (United States) 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
This mag used to be good... then they became 'official'.... that's another word for 'bland' in this case...
come on guys! you are better than this! get your stinkin act together!!
I will still keep my subscription, but only because I collect gaming mags.... I'm a huge fan of gaming journalism; I collect it!
there is NEVER anything interesting in this mag, except for the segment they did on Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.....
there is potential here, but Sony has obviously ordered that the writing be BLAND AS HELL just like McDonalds food.....
sickening............
good content, but not a lot of it July 15, 2009 M. Shah (Chicago) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
i know print has been hurting, and it shows here. the magazine is thinner (and a higher percentage ads) than similar ones a decade ago. that being said, the content is quite good.
