Pretty good. May 30, 2008 J. Brooks It is the Live on stage version so it doesn't hold my daughters attention like the real show. But its pretty good and has catchy tunes!
Bear Rocks March 7, 2007 Lisa Folk (Houston, Texas) Bear grooves and moves as always. This one is definitly different since it is live. We wish were there. It is a little to short but is still a great film. Bear does it again teaching children about surprise parties, friends, and much more while entertaining at the same time. This is a good way to keep you child busy while they learn. Bear teaches values and helpful information such as seasons, shapes, colors, potty training, brushing teeth, bathing, sharing, friendship, and alot more.
Swell Idea September 24, 2006 George Buttner (Dayton, Ohio United States) "Bear in the Big Blue House Live! Mouse Party" is a DVD/VHS recording of one of several "Bear in the Big Blue House" live shows that toured the nation while the program was still in the heyday of its popularity on Playhouse Disney. I think this is a rather neat idea, because you don't usually see home-video releases for other such live shows, such as the various "Dragon Tales" live productions.
"Bear in the Big Blue House Live" features the events seen in the television episode "Mouse Party." Parties are generally fun, so it's a good choice for the on-stage adaptation. In this one, Bear and his friends are all trying to surprise Tutter the mouse with a big party for his birthday. The kids in the audience and now viewers at home are invited to help out while keeping the secret at the same time.
"Bear in the Big Blue House Live" seems to rely heavily on musical numbers taken directly from the TV series. I think it's possible that they may have taken too many --- it almost seems at times like every other comment is an excuse to break oout in song. Still, kids will generally enjoy these musical numbers and see Bear, Tutter and all their friends on-stage. While it's true that things perhaps don't look quite as crisp as they do on the show, overall this is still a fun production. The recording also features frequent cuts for audience reactions. And it is rather neat that they released it on VHS/DVD.
The DVD version comes with a bonus feature --- sing-alongs for five of the songs in the program. Both the VHS and the DVD also include promos and trailers. Additionally, the DVD is available with a bonus sticker set, for those that are interested.
Our daughter won't turn it off! February 24, 2004 Happy Customer (PA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We went to see the actual show in January and our daughter loved it, so we picked this up. She has watched it 3-4 times a day since. Sure the puppeteers make some mistakes and you can tell that they are puppets, but isn't that the point? Bear's strings always show even on TV. Bottom line is that this DVD has everything that makes Bear has been the one show or character that she hasn't outgrown or gone through a phase of not caring about.
My 20 month daughter loves this. September 3, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My 20 month daughter loves this dvd - of all we own it's her favorite. Every day I can count on her saying "Bear! Bear! Bear!". She wants to watch this dvd. Now I got other Bear dvds and they are just 2 or 3 episodes on one dvd. This one is the live show and is jam packed with songs. During your typical show you are lucky to get 3 songs but this one has all the biggies. My daughter loves singing Good Morning (Rays song) and Bear Cha Cha. Other highlights are What's your Name - I think just created for the live show and is very catchy for adults too. Seeing this video makes me eager for my daughter to grow a little so I can take her to the next live Bear show. Highly recommend this show for your kids.
