Amazon.com The prologue to every Powerpuff Girls show explains how the perky threesome were created in Professor Utonium's lab--by a combination of sugar, spice, and everything nice, along with an accidental dash of Chemical X--but how is it that they started fighting crime? Why didn't they just take their superpowers to the playground and use them for fun? And what's behind evil monkey MoJo JoJo's never-ending quest for Powerpuff vengeance? All questions are answered in The Powerpuff Girls Movie, which details the creation of Blossom (the commander and leader), Bubbles (the joy and laughter), and Buttercup (the toughest fighter) in more depth than ever before, and the result is a speedy, fun joy ride through the girls' early days. At first, the girls are happy-go-lucky, fitting in nicely at Pokey Oaks kindergarten, until a game of tag gets riotously out of hand (destroying the city of Townsville in the process) and they're shunned by the town populace. Alone, they find their only ally in MoJo, a monkey with a peculiarly large brain and a sympathetic nature, but is MoJo really on their side? The 87-minute length doesn't offer the breakneck momentum that regular episodes do, but it's still riotously funny and filled with tons of Powerpuff fighting. Fans may miss the other super villains featured in the show (MoJo's the only bad guy in town, for now), but with the jokes and action coming fast, you'll be pleasantly enraptured by the perky threesome. crazy for power puff girls August 8, 2009 Eric D. Eck (warrington, pa) My two daughters were very excited to receive the Powerpuff Girls movie in the mail as a surprise. My 4 year old daughter received the whole series as a present for her birthday and LOVES the show. The movie was also a big hit!! My seven year old daughter also enjoyed the movie very much. They loved seeing the origin of the Power Puff girls and were surprised that the Professor was surprised of the girls for a moment. It was also nice to see a different side of Mojo Jojo. Any fan of the show will love the movie; it is nice that there was a cartoon about three young girls--there are not too many enjoyable cartoon geared for girls. Definately a good purchase.
A happy customer June 29, 2009 Brian C. Tester When I first received this DVD, the box was empty. I checked amazon's website to find out how to fix this problem, but their site was no help. I had to do some searching on the internet and found the sellers site. I was pleasantly surprised at the quick response from them. They shipped a new DVD and I received it within a week. I thought this was going to be a huge hassle, but instead it turned out to be resolved very quickly. I highly recommend this seller.
**Awesome** April 11, 2009 T. Weaver (indiana, pa usa) I bought this along with the complete series for my niece's birthday and she just loves it! She watches the movie and the series every day and the funny thing is that I enjoy them as much as she does!
PLEASE RELEASE IN WIDESCREEN March 5, 2009 Jeanette Foshee (Iowa) I very much enjoyed the series and the movie. However I was very disappointed to see the Powerpuff Girls movie released in only the inferior and unwatchable fullscreen. I refuse to buy this movie until it is released in the U.S. in its proper widescreen dimensions. I don't know why any studios release fullscreen "pan and scan" pieces of crap anymore, unless it's a TV show that was originally formatted that way. Wake up and realize that the days of cutting a movie to pieces to make it fit oldstyle TV screens is long gone!
Best Cartoon Network Movie Ever! March 2, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've seen lots of movies based on TV shows. Jetsons: The Movie, The Proud Family Movie, need I go on? But this, the one they call "The Powerpuff Girls Movie" stood out above the rest.It catches all the excitement of the show and wraps it up in an action-packed big-screen adventure. The movie explains how Prof. Utonium created the Powerpuff Girls and how they battled Mojo Jojo for the first time and saved Townsville! They explained all that in the show's theme song but the movie gives more a-detail. OK, so the movie is full screen on the DVD and I myself am not really a big fan of this full screen junk but do you want the movie on DVD or not? Besides, it's still full screen on the VHS tape so you got no option, Kid. Anyway, the violence level might be a little high and the movie is rated PG but it's not PG-13, or R so I don't see why you're whining like a little baby. But anyway I bet your fat cow of a mama of yours is calling you so I'll just end it here. Bye.
