Product Description See Aunt Annie riding on an Alligator. Meet a Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz. Dr. Seuss makes the alphabet so unpredictably entertaining. 400 alphabetically inspired surprises with humor, rhyme and fun!
Amazon.com Review A great way to learn the alphabet--from Aunt Annie's alligator to the Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz--Dr. Seuss's beloved word play and fanciful illustrations are brought beautifully to life through this software. Each page has multiple hidden places to click, along with pictures, actions, and songs just waiting to surprise you. For a great activity for more advanced readers, have them pick out just the verbs or nouns on each page. Younger siblings can learn to recognize both capitals and lowercase letters. Sound effects and talking characters add depth and humor to the basic alphabet, and Seuss's version of the "ABC" song will become a permanent sing-along favorite. The CD can even be played on your regular home music system--a great bonus when parents need their computer back! Required mouse skills can be as simple as clicking one icon to turn the page; kids can also discover clickables no matter what level of coordination they have. --Jill Lightner

Fun for as soon as they can touch the key boards March 18, 2009 J. Bailey I read the reviews after buying this software because I was curious after having it for a years of what others thought. I have two daughters 2 1/2 & 1 1/2. They both use it. My oldest turns it on for her little sister and my youngest likes to watch and hit the keys. My oldest knows how to click on all the objects and move around to other features of the software. She learned how to do the video mode all on her own. It is an interactive game. When it's in the play with me mode; your child can click on the different objects and it will read a rhyme for that letter/objects. It's not a video game but more that it gets them use to objects that start with that letter, rhyming and cause & effect. My girls absolutely love it.
Still works with XP after all these years. 6 stars if I could February 4, 2009 B. Edwards 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is likely the best kids software you are ever to see. They just don't put the care into software development these days that you see in this product.
I am STILL amazed when my 4 yr old asks me to load this, at the sheer CONTENT in this, as well as the production values. Voice acting, music, animation and graphics, it's got it all, and if your kid is not engaged, they may have a problem. Seriously, it's that good. Just get it, it's what,[...]
Great, great product.
Might like it if we could USE it June 4, 2008 A. Marston (ossining, ny United States) Bought the ABC and Green Eggs and Ham cds (they came as a set). Could not load GE&H on my hubby's laptop (running XP) without hanging, so we tried my desktop (running Vista). It loaded, and runs, but continues to hang on occasion. ABC is worse; we can't get past the letter B before it hangs. Both computers have more then enough RAM, OS are listed as compatible, etc. It gets one star 'cause we can run GE&H most of the time, and my 3 1/2 yr old LURVES it.
Great! My son enjoys it over and over! March 11, 2008 Michal Lachmann (Pine Mountain Club, CA) My son is 4 and is learning his A,B,C's with this program!
Its fun and keeps him interested. I enjoyed picking it out online, the price was great and the service too. Thanks!
Software is NOT compatible with OS X 10.5 December 23, 2007 Bruce Lowther (Bristow, Va United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Here are the documented system requirements as shown to a customer:
# Macintosh:
# Power Mac
# 68020 or faster processor
# 8 MB RAM
# 80 MB hard disk space
# 2x or faster CD-ROM drive
# 256-color or better video display
# Mouse
My computer meets these requirements. However after receiving the CD a key system requirement was identified:
OS 7.5 - 9
Hmmm wait a minute. OS X (10.5.1) Leopard no longer supports OS 9!
When you insert this CD you will get:
You can't open the application "Dr. Seuss's ABC" because the Classic environment is no longer supported
The little apple compatibility icon needs to be updated to reflect reality.
