Product Description Unlike many books about the afterlife, Life after Death makes no appeal to religious faith, divine revelation, or sacred texts. Drawing on some of the most powerful theories and trends in physics, evolutionary biology, science, philosophy, and psychology, D Souza shows why the atheist critique of immortality is irrational and draws the striking conclusion that it is reasonable to believe in life after death. He concludes by showing how life after death can give depth and significance to this life, a path to happiness, and reason for hope.

Great Read! November 24, 2009 Dan R. Smith (Simi Valley, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Fascinating! Couldn't put it down! Also read "What's so great about Christianity". Dinesh D'Souza is the C.S. Lewis of our time, taking on atheists and darwinists head-on on their own turf! Eminently readable! No advanced degree required!
Interesting and informative, but missing an important part November 24, 2009 Leah (Tucson, AZ) This book is well researched and written with a very scientific focus. I found it to be a good read and it has a lot of really interesting information that I think makes it worthwhile.
I do agree with a previous post that excluding any evidence tied to paranormal activity seems very dismissive on the author's part. To really explore the possibility and/or evidence of life after death, how can you totally leave out this phenomena. I felt like this book was missing a big piece of the full picture.
Another more emotionally gripping story that includes evidence for the afterlife while touching on science and spirituality is found in a book I recently read called 'Soul Shift' by Mark Ireland. This is a first-person narrative written in a memoir style that is about the author's direct personal experiences. I just found it to be a more compelling book that pulled me in more.
Overall, I think that Life After Death is a good book but does not satisfy all of the questions you may have regarding the topic of afterlife (not that any one book could).
Scholarly written with whit and wisdom. November 24, 2009 Gary S. Porter 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The questions raised, and there handling were thought provoking, and interstingly laid out. Dinesh brings the question we all think about, but can't authoritatively answer into the realm of commonly held feelings substantiated, unknowingly, by the philosophies of men. As I read, I posed thoughts and questions to my wife, which brought out our musings about the event I think we will all live through. Whether you have those same musings or not, the read will enlighten, and delight your next party host.

Very well presented November 24, 2009 Stanley C. Adams (CT) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Outstanding!!!! Dinesh states the issues very clearly. He states the case against without prejudice and then his own case. His argumentation process is clear and deeply penetrating. My own thought processes are "stretched" as I read this book. This is one of my ALL Time favorite books. Highly recommended.
Another D'Souza Masterpiece! November 24, 2009 Joe Donaldson 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Dinesh has done it again!. D'Souza's respectful treatment of opposing views always has me thinking "YES, that is exactly it...that is the BIG question...this is the other side of the arguement." In typical fashion, D'Souza then goes on to thoughtfully make his compelling case. My faith is always strengthened after a D'Souza read precisely because he is fair to all sides of an issue. This is a GREAT book! Read it and renew the way you approach others and the way you live your life.
