1 out of 5 stars cheap and not well throughout   July 31, 2009

fallout 3 is a massive game
so i want to get a guide so i can read up on it
1st the book is like a phone book heavy on the outside but the pages inside are the same paper they use in a phone book super thin like tissue paper
the book is in some order but its not a neat book its a mess in the being you can get a headache trying look for what you want
also theirs on index
i have two oblivion guides and they great this one just sucks

5 out of 5 stars Great Game Resource   July 2, 2009

First off I have to say that it DOES contain a Table of Contents but it does not have an index in the back of the book.

The book is almost 500 pages of tips/tricks/data/maps/locations/etc and it literally is a cornucopia of information. With a resource like this you can't go wrong roaming the wasteland of Washington DC.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who avidly enjoys Fallout 3 even if you have beat all the quests and found all the locations. I doubt anyone has truly discovered every Easter Egg and secret but with this book you could be one step closer to that goal.

3 out of 5 stars Lots of info but poorly designed   July 2, 2009
A. DeRier
Well I love the Prima guides for the most part. I used the Oblivion one so much that I knew i wanted the Fallout3 one as soon as I got the game itself. I never imagined to be so let down by it. While it completely covers the main quest and all the side quests, I have 2 MAJOR problems with the guide.
1)No index. If you are like me, you took several hours and just walked around the Wasteland looking at stuff. The problem here is that when i found something there was no index in the book for me to know which page to turn to see if there was any quests or missions i could do in the place i just found. In fact if you want a run down of the location you have to figure out what zone the location is in and then turn to the section of the guide that covers that zone and then look up the name and then finally you can read all about it. This is not helpful and is very time consuming, to the point that i just stopped looking places up.

2)No cross references. In the middle of the quest "wasteland survival guide" and it mentions at one point that i should combine quests with another of the misc quests. This is a great idea, except there is no cross reference to the page the other quest is found on, so i turn to the front of the book, find the misc quest that is mentioned and then turn to it, only to discover it was only 10 pages away from where i just was reading. this happens all through the guide, and simple cross referencing would be a BIG help. whenever a location or quest is mentions, just tell me what page its on in the guide.

If those two things wouldnt bother you then go for it and get the book. all the info you could ever want is available in the book, but it is far from easy to find.

4 out of 5 stars Very nice guide   May 26, 2009

This guide isn't as poorly organized as other reviewers would have you believe. True, there is no index, but there is a table of contents. So, it's relatively easy to find what you're looking for. The only time I have trouble is if I am looking for a particular character. Then I just look that person up on the internet and get the info. I rarely have to use the internet.
