How can you not like this book? August 24, 2009 mrgrinch09 (Louisville, KY) You can't help but love this book. The illustrations are so simple, yet perfect for this story. This book is always a hit with the children in our preschool classroom.
sweet book! April 17, 2009 UGA girl THis book is very sweet and shows the value of embracing difference in others. Great book for lessons in elementary kids and art while introducing the color wheel.
A relevant lesson April 2, 2009 Robert M. Beckley This book is one I read to my children (now in their 40's) and I was delighted to find it in print so I could share it with my grandchildren. At one level it can be read as an abstract lesson in color theory. At another level it can be read as an affirmation of people of different colors and how they might get along. This is still a relevant lesson, perhaps even more so now that we have a president who has described himself with good humor as a mongrel.
fabulous book for kids around 5 years old March 4, 2009 N. Cheeseman i'm an art teacher and this book always opens up my kindergarten paint mixing lesson!!! the students love it, and we often check it out again as a refresher for 1st and 2nd grade:) lots of fun, and great to read with serious expressions!!!
A favorite from my childhood, but definitely an unusual book September 12, 2008 Ulyyf (NYC) Honestly, I can't think of a way to describe this book without just typing the entire story into this review.
But it is very memorable, and I certainly loved it as a child. Leo Lionni is the classic children's author whose name you never remember but whose books you most definitely read as a kid. Don't pass this one by without at least checking it out.
