Fantastic Early Readers October 21, 2009 Lana Jordan (www.PuffballPress.com) My children loved these books! Ideal for young readers who are ready to tackle short chapters on their own. Simple plots with fun adventures centered around a time theme. Imaginative and educational. This starter set includes the first four books of the series, after which your children will be hooked and excited about reading. The Magic Treehouse series makes a great follow-up to Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons.
Perfect read for a 7 year old book worm October 15, 2009 E. Conner (Canal Winchester) My daughter is 7 years old, and she is my little book worm. These books are by far her favorite to read. They are chapter books, and are the perfect reading range for a 6-8 year old. The concept is pretty neat I must say, a treehouse being a portal for wherever the kids want to go. You can save money though by getting these at the library. Highly recommended if you child is into chapter books.
Our choice was spot on ! August 20, 2009 Mr. M. Timberlake (West Sussex, U.K.) We gave this set as summer reading to our 6 year old Grandchild who reads them to his Brother. He loves them and has now read them several times. He did not want anything else at bedtime because he would stay awake reading. Mommy was so pleased with his interest that she is now adding more by the same author. Thank you Amazon for making our choice an easy one.
mom happy with purchase of Magic Tree house books. August 10, 2009 Karen M. Parker (Pennsylvania) Recently I purchased the 4 set Magic Tree books for my daughter who entering 4th grade. It was part of her summer reading homework. The books were nicely enclosed in a book case like holder, and the books were a good size which made for easy transport in a handbag, duffle bag etc..where my daughter was able to take them with her when on the go. The pastel colors used in the books cover was calming, happy colors which made my daughter want to read these books. The books were worth the money spent..
Not even a story July 27, 2009 TKD Gal (Sunny CA, USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Good grief what is this? I thought the books looked interesting for my entering 1st grader, who reads at a 2nd grade level. The word "Dinosaur" caught my attention in the first title, because that's a hot topic with the younger elementary boys. I had my son read it by himself. The 2nd we decided to do as a before bed type of read aloud story. The thing was..there was really no story to it! They go to the treehouse, transport, go in the castle, go out of the castle, go home, and not much else happens. At the end I was like, that's it? It was such a promising idea, but no actual story behind it!
Everyone seemed to rave about them, so I came on here searching to see reviews, and see if anyone felt the way I do about the first couple of books. I hadn't even noticed the grammar, probably because I was focused on doing "voices" and sound effects. I picked up the book and looked through it after reading the reviews and have to admit the other reviews are pretty spot on regarding grammar.
I'll be moving on to other series instead.
