DO NOT PURCHASE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND AN ADDITIONAL $8/MONTH TO ACCESS FULL GAME!! September 23, 2009 Susan Carey Buyer beware - purchase of this game only allows you to access 2 of the 12 levels of the game. To access the full game, you must become a jumpstart member (for an additional cost of $8/month). From the moment the game starts, it talks about earning the 12 badges to unlock the mystery - so that by the time you complete the first two levels, your child is fully aware that there are other areas of the camp under construction that they have not accessed, and that they need to become "members". Unless you want to spend the money or deal with an extremely disappointed child, do not purchase!! My guess is that this is true with other Jumpstart products as well.
Don't order it August 3, 2009 KS (NY) I have tried so many times to get this thing to work and I'm so dissapointed because I was really excited about getting it for my son as he has had other cds that work perfectly. And as others have had the same problem, I recommend not waisting money on that product
Great for my daughter April 19, 2009 S. Stelmaszyk (Albany, NY USA) My daughter is 5 and heading into Kindergarten this Fall. She uses this software in her pre-K class and loves it. The item arrived in a much quicker time than the shipping method we selected and we're very happy with it
Cute and engaging. March 9, 2009 JerryB (NJ) The kids like it and it helps them to learn. They used it for a couple of weeks, then got bored of it. It got them interested in letters and numbers though. It's a good change of pace from hand written learning activities.
Jumpstart Programs Does not Install on PC August 20, 2008 Daljeet Kaur (Sterling VA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have 3-4 jumpstart programs. These are good. Kids 3 and 5 year old love them. But unfortunately the programs does not install on the PC. Installation just put the link on the desktop. Everytime you have to put the CD into the computer, only then you can start the program. With kids CDs can be easily damaged. Without CD the program will not run. If you have your PC put inside the cabinet it may be a big hassle to change CDs everytime you want to run the programs.
It would be good if the programs get installed on PC and you never have to bother about CDs again. But seems like company is deliberately not letting it installed on computer so that you buy new CD if it gets corrupted. SMART way to rip-off. I'll think 10 times before I buy any Jumpstart program again. I would give 5 stars to appreciate the programmers efforts to make these programs very useful. But I'll deduct 2 stars for company's dirty tricks.
