An excellent learning tool June 13, 2000 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
As a child, I studied music, but I wanted to brush up on my music theory. This video presents classical and jazz music theory in a very accessible way. Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite and Duke Ellington's arrangement of the same are used to illustrate different aspects of music. Marsalis uses visual aids that tie the music theory to everyday aspects of life. This is a great video for kids and adults to learn more about the music that they are appreciating.
