Kids love this Muppet take on Robert Louis Stevenson's pirate classic, about the pirate Long John Silver (Tim Curry) and his takeover of a ship in order to track down buried treasure. His friend and then nemesis is earnest cabin boy Jim Hawkins (Kevin Bishop), who teams with the captain of the ship (Kermit the Frog) and several shipmates (including Gonzo, Ratso, and Fozzie) to foil Long John's nefarious plot. An odd subplot finds Captain Kermit stopping at a desert island to find his long-lost love (Miss Piggy--who else?).  muppets rule November 30, 2008
I have always been a Muppet fan and was privaliged to have been raised on Sesame Street. Brian Henson has what his father Jim Henson had, A wonderful imagination and sense of humor. If you take the Muppet movies too literally you miss the point, just enjoy.

This dvd only played through once before it started skipping like crazy. I am very disappointed with this purchase. I paid close to $20 for this dvd that is by no means in good condition. My son loved the story so much that I've purchased another one from another website for $10 less than I paid here & it's brand new.
Muppet Treasure Island July 22, 2008
Our family loves the Muppets and Tim Curry does a terrific job of being the main villain pirate. He's absolutely amazing.

My kids absolutely love this movie, and so do I. The Muppets are great as always, and the classic story of Treasure Island with a Muppet twist, humans mingling with Muppets as if they naturally belong together, is really fun to watch.
