I have no idea what a good, smallish (ie, not the size of a backpack, or in "girl" colors) alternative to this case would be, but I certainly wouldn't purchase this particular case. In addition to the high lead content that everyone has mentioned, the only way that ANY games would fit into it is if you put them on top of the Leapster, which has the potential to scratch the screen. I realize Leapster makes a case that is larger and has pockets, but it ain't this one (nor is it stocked on Amazon, just through a third party retailer, boo!), and I haven't seen it stocked in stores, either.

This is a basic case for the Leapster that is meant to hold the device itself and a few games.
In my testing, I've been able to comfortably fit a Leapster and five games (with one of the five plugged into the unit). You could maybe fit six, but that would be less than ideal. For those complaining that the case doesn't fit enough cartridges, I would suggest purchasing a different type of case, like a bag or backpack, not this basic model. By doing that, you obviously lose the smaller form factor of this product, though.
The case build is well designed with bold, attractive colors and a solid, durable feel. Overall, this item does what it needs to--protect an expensive electronic gadget and carry along a few games.

I just turned in this case to the Toy Testing and Exchange Event. [...] for more information. Also visit[...]. The minimum level of acceptable lead content is 98 parts per million, this case has over 3,200 parts per million. Don't Buy this case! It was bundled with Wall-E at Costco and should not be used.

I'd like to thank the previous reviewer, S. Leavy for bringing attention to the HealthyToys.org website. I was about to buy this case and then read that it contains high levels of lead and arsenic, and low levels of mercury. Not sure how it made it to the shelves, but i hope it gets taken off quickly.

This is listed by HealthyToys.org as having tested high for Lead. Check their website. It is listed under the Worst Toys, Leapster Wall-E bundle though when you look at the actual test results, it is only the case that tested high.
