| Customer Reviews:
Great blocks, but quality is not perfect January 6, 2009 We have lots of building toys: Melissa and Doug unit blocks, Plan toys water blocks, and clear magna-tiles are our favorite 5 star building toys. These blocks are great, but I did notice that the quality is not as good as the plan toys water blocks. The wood around the plexi centers is not as thick, and the wood is not as smoothly sanded as the water blocks, or melissa and doug unit blocks. It's not bad enough to give your child splinters though, so not a big deal. The green blocks are also more of a yellowish green than a true green.
I do like that it comes with a shape not found in either of the above mentioned sets, scalene triangles that can be used as mini ramps if you put them on their side since they are 1/2 the size of a standard unit block.
So, I'd still reccommend them since their issues are minor and I doubt that my child has noticed any of them. He really enjoys playing with them along with his other unit blocks. If you're debating between this and the plan toys water blocks, go with the water blocks even though you get less blocks. The quality is better, and kids love moving the water around.
