Editorial Review Oh so lifelike in looks, this plump and pillowy plush penguin is more than a big soft bundle of huggability. Hold him close, put your hand into the opening in his upper back and make him flap his wings, move his head, and speak (with your best penguin voice). Sure, he stands by himself, a full 13.5 inches tall, balanced on his approximately 7-inch-diameter flat bottom, two shiny leatherette flipper-feet, and a plush tail. He's an eye-catching Arctic artifact on shelf or table, but too loveable to leave sitting across the room. Pick him up and talk to him, you can't resist! And though a living, breathing, emperor penguin can stand Fahrenheit temperatures down to minus-100 degrees, this one doesn't mind cuddling close and cozy under the covers with you. Comes with interesting facts and a story about the emperor penguin's colors. Surface-washable polyester. --Ava Natov

Goes great with the March of the Penguins DVD April 30, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My 6-year-old daughter loved the movie and now enjoys playing with the penguin and the baby penguin (also by Folkmanis). She plays with her puppets and plush toys more than any of her other toys or games. She just LOVES making them talk and coming up with new adventures for them!
A hit for a 5 year old March 23, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This Emperor Penguin Puppet is a real hit with my 5 year old. We almost never use it as a puppet but rather as a plush toy/pal. This penguin looks round and pregnant, but to my kid, this penguin is a perfect friend. He has pretty much outgrown all of his plush toys, but for some reason, this one has a place in his heart and in his imagination.
Emperor Penguin Puppet February 28, 2006 I don't really own it yet but I'm going in a few weeks. Very nice toy. Glad I ordered it.
Arctic - Antarctic November 18, 2005 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
Difficult to assess what kids make of it but yes, these things probably add to bringing nature, of which the kids themselves are part, closer to them. They also perpetuate the myth that wild animals are nice and cuddly. I would take issue with the editorial review which calls the penguin an "eye-catching Arctic artifact" - penguins would surely be eyecatchers in the Arctic, as they are Antarctic (or at least souther hemisphere) creatures. Not much educational value has rubbed off on the editor.... sorry!
Nice Penguin October 24, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Nice Penguin ! Only problem it is a bit difficult for my five year old nephew to manuver and myself for that matter..But it looks good and the service was fantastic.
