PVA is a great thing to build the mop around! November 23, 2008 My walk out basement is all tile. The mops sold in the store--we have tried them all--the sponge wears out very fast. Does not pick up the dirty water out of the grout lines. Our tile is slightly textured and left the dirty water there to dry too. This mop solved all those problems--cleans and picks up the dirty cleaning water--as you move on the floor is dry almost right away. Hate the high shipping costs but love the PVA mop!
As amazing as can be! November 21, 2008 It's a little expensive, but for me it's worth every penny. We just got a dog and I was concerned because I have 2 small children ( one is going for the cookie that fell on the floor every time), so I was adamant I have to have a reliable cleaning "team". This mop and the bucket for it are just right! I used to have the mop in Europe and although the mop itself was great, it was difficult to use with a regular bucket because of the mop's shape/size, so the bucket is a real nice and convenient addition that I recommend.
Why isn't this available everywhere? June 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After having my last sponge mop start disintegrating within 4 months of purchase, I started shopping around for something better and bought this product based on the glowing reviews on this site and others. I haven't been disappointed. This mop does a spectacular job of picking up not only the easy stuff (dirt), but also hair and dog fur, without making multiple passes. Somehow, the people at Rubbermaid have accomplished what I used to think must be impossible: designing a mop head that has the correct texture to "grab" everything off the floor, yet release it with ease when you rinse and wring. It also seems durable enough that I doubt I'll have to replace it anytime soon. I can't claim, as some other reviewers have, that it leaves the floor practically dry when you finish, but I will say that my floors dry a bit faster than with my old sponge mop -- and they end up MUCH cleaner. The only cons I've found are that the telescoping handle will occasionally collapse even when it seems to have been tightened properly, and that you must soak the mop head for 60 seconds before wringing it out, since wringing it out dry can damage it. Given how well it works, these are pretty minor cons. I don't understand why this mop (and replacement heads) only seem to be available online. It was well worth the $20 I paid (including S&H).
be sure to reinforce the handle before it breaks May 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Don't extend the handle all the way or it will break. It is a great mop otherwise. I knew this before I bought it.
good but not as good as the last one April 28, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The PVA mop is hard to come by. In most stores they sell those crappy Liebman which just spread stuff around. The PVA mop is a super dense mop head that really picks up what it puts down for a super clean surface. My old one was slightly different and did a little better job but this one is still many times better than a regular sponge mop or chamois rag head style.
