Rarely seen in the United States, this game set is for the Japanese version of mahjong. Japanese mahjong makes use of ''riichi'' scoring rules, and a unique tile called the ''Dora'' tile which throws an element of luck and uncertainty into the game. Japanese mahjong is also the standard mahjong game in Denmark and the Netherlands. This set includes a beautifully finished black wooden veneer box with a red felt interior, and weighty melamine black tiles with designs that jump off the surface. Four 'red five' dora tiles and all the dragon tiles are included. It's a gorgeous set, and the Japanese variant of the game is a fascinating new experience for a mahjong fan.
