1 out of 5 stars It's a nice system when it work, the only problem is it never works   March 18, 2010
Michael Tenney (Baltimore, MD)
Some of the other reviews mentioned that sometimes the picture goes blank every once in a while with this system but they didn't make it seem like it was a big deal. Some reviews have said that they only had a problem with one input or one device but it didn't matter if it was the cable, PS3 or xbox, the screen just goes blank for know apparent reason. At first I had no problems with the picture but right after the 30-day period where Amazon lets you return stuff the system started having issues. As of now, the "SAT" input does not work at all and the "BD" input will flash in and out every 20 minutes, sometimes the screen will go black for 5 minutes before it corrects itself only to repeat the process in another half hour. I've tried switching out the HDMI cables, even bought new ones, tried a different TV, played with the settings on my PS3, and everything else I can think of to fix it and nothing has helped. I'm only 27 but this is by far the worst electronic device I have ever bought. I'd recommend spending a little more so you can maybe get a system that works.

4 out of 5 stars my sony htss360   March 18, 2010

the sony htss360 surround sound system is easy to set up and understand instructions and of good quality but i found using my rca mid speaker and 4 surroundspeakers (keeping the sub) the sound was less tinny.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent HTIB   March 15, 2010
Mir Islam (San Jose, CA USA)
This is a great HTIB. Lots of people already have discussed in details the merits and cons. One thing which was missing from the reviews when I read them was if this able to pass thru video/audio feed when turned off. Turns out it can ! Even though the manual says it can't. This HTIB will output video/audio from last selected HDMI source to the TV. This was very important for me since we do not want to listen to audio via 5.1 setup always. For example sometime we are watching TV shows via PlayStation. Hope this bit of information helps those who were looking for it.

4 out of 5 stars Didn't like it at first but now I do.....   March 15, 2010
G. Eason (Gastonia, NC USA)
I purchased the HTSS360 because of the true HDMI connections and it would be easy for my wife and girls to use - also, the price was in my range. It was very easy to set up and connect to my Sony HDTV and (new) Sony Blu-ray - speaker wires were long enough but still wished Sony would have used the standard speaker wire connectors. I did have to purchase a 6ft Optical Audio cable from [...] for the TV connection. I used the automatic setup to adjust the speakers - didn't like the sound but had all my speakers seating on the floor. Had to spend another $85 to get four speaker stands for the front and back speakers and moved my sub around. Worth the money. Ran the automatic setup and the sound is great now for my average size room - the bass doesn't hit aggressively hard (using auto setup) but the sound is full like a theater. I like that my sound can be controlled by my TV or Cable remote - I don't have to use a second remote. The system does have an issue automatically swapping from the Blu-ray hdmi to cable box hdmi - I have to change it manually with the remote - but I think it may just be a setting. The system was so easy to set-up that I haven't even pulled out the manual yet. Also, by turning off the power to the system - the TV speakers turn back on automatically. Turn the HTSS360 system power back on and the TV speaker turn off and the system takes over. I hope this helps..... I was originally looking at the Yamaha system but didn't want it to be too difficult for the girls to use.

5 out of 5 stars Can't beat this for the money!   March 15, 2010
Matthew C. Johnson (Traverse City, MI USA)
I have previously owned a Sony DVD Home Theater System, but wanted this for the multiple HDMI inputs.
The sound is great, and I consider myself to be somewhat of an audiophile. Lots of added features over the older DVD system. I have my HD satellite and Blu-Ray player running through this receiver, and they work flawlessly. If you want lots of bass, it's all about subwoofer placement. Do Not put the subwoofer facing out into the room! Face it into a corner for maximum output, or at least towards a wall, about 4 or 5 inches from the wall. Hope this helps. Enjoy!
