Amazon.com Review Transforming into 30 different ships, the Matchbox Mega Rig Pirate Ship lets kids sail the high seas for hours of enjoyment. Designed for children ages four and up, the Mega Rig Pirate ship starts as one big pirate ship. Kids can break the ship down into elements that make, or can be mixed and matched to create, an array of different vessels made for racing, going ashore, or battling against one another with friends.
The Mega Rig Pirate Ship comes with two pirate action figures. View larger. | Built for Adventure With the Mega Rig Pirates Ship, living rooms, backyards, and bathtubs all become places pirate adventures. The different ship components are made from durable plastic, which holds up to playtime on land or water. Built with Styrofoam inside, the base of each ship will float, and with built-in yellow wheels, can also roll along the ground. Smaller pieces, like the treasure chests, have rounded snap bottoms that easily and firmly connect to other building components. The pirate-ship set also comes with two pirate figures -- a captain and a crew member, a harpoon launcher, and a giant purple squid complete with suction tentacles. Built for Seafaring Adventures Unlike some building toys, the Mega Rig Pirate Ship makes it easy for kids to jump right into playtime. Parents will appreciate this all-in-one building system comes already assembled as one giant vessel. And with easy-snapping pieces and picture references in the included booklet, detailed instructions aren't necessary for assembling the smaller ships. With so many scenarios and ships to build, each day can bring new opportunities for imaginative adventures. With the giant squid to play with, this toy is ideal for bath time. To avoid a mess, be sure to rinse, drain out, and dry the items before storing them away. Outdoors and around the house are also good places for pirate adventures, but be aware that the tiny wheels work best on smooth, hard surfaces like wood or linoleum. What's in the Box Pirate ship, giant squid, two pirate figures, treasure chest, harpoon launcher, and booklet.
The ship's pieces snap together easily, allowing you to create dozens of different vessels. View larger. |

| Customer Reviews: So much fun and versitile too! November 9, 2009 C. Hamilton My son got this for his 4th birthday. As soon as it was out of the package, he started playing and hasn't really stopped since. It is great for in the tub and out too. The octopus's tenticles come off, which is tons of fun for him. His does have some problems getting the pieces snapped back together, but I think with practice it will get easier. Definately recommend this. He also got another Matchbox little pirate set with the shark. I recommend the two together-makes for a lot of imaginative play.
OUTSTANDING TOY October 29, 2009 Ani N. Tertzakian (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This toy is so well packaged, so well made, so well thought out - for those that play with it, those that invest in it, those that tidy up after it!
Somewhat Fun October 18, 2009 R & S's Mom (Las Vegas, NV) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this for my son for this fourth birthday and he plays with it a few times a week, though it mostly gets play time in the bath since the boat and the various smaller parts float. He enjoys the pirate ship but it does not get nearly the attention and devotion as his Mega Rig Space Shuttle. The sections that can be pulled apart from the ship only form other smaller boats versus combining to make a totally different type of vehicle, so one ends up with a flotilla of small boats along with the black shell of the pirate boat. Not as interesting to play with as anticipated.
Great for pirate lover! October 2, 2009 Wendy Workman 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My 4 year old boy loved this boat. He takes it apart and puts it back together over and over. He enjoys stacking the sails. He likes that it rolls and he can push it on the tile.
