5 out of 5 stars Great Fun!   January 4, 2010
D. Hahn (Las Vegas, NV USA)
I bought this last year after Christmas for my daughter. She is 5 years old this year and looked forward every day to opening a flap to see what she would get for her ponies next. She absolutely loved this calendar and it gave her a way to countdown to Christmas since time is not the easiest concept for 5 year old children. Hope your children enjoy it!

4 out of 5 stars A list of what we got . . . (spoiler alert, lol)   December 3, 2009
Q
First off, I will say that I bought this last year on clearance and saved it to use this year. As such, perhaps our expectations just aren't as high (since I did pay full retail)? I didn't expect a pony each day, so the sticker sheet days didn't disappoint us at all.

Anyway, here's what we got:
Day 1: Visible through the clear window, a Pinkie Pie Ponyville Pony
Day 2: A set of hot pink mary-jane style shoes for Pinkie Pie and a small plastic present box (that does fit the shoes, with removable lid). The shoes were just a bit challenging to get on, but have stayed on since even through play.
Day 3: A sticker sheet with about a dozen small/tiny stickers; ornaments, candy canes, stars, and holly. My daughter decorated Day 2's present box, a punch out Christmas tree and ornament from the back of the box.
Day 4: More stickers. This time 3 long strips of bulb lights to decorate the punch out tree. A little challenging since the stickers are long/skinny and 1 tore when my 3.5yo tried to peel it off herself, also would have made more sense for these to come before the ornament stickers since they're bigger and need more room on the little cardboard tree from the box.
Day 5: A little fabric stocking for the ponies
Day 6: 2 tiny plastic lollipops (1 pink, 1 teal)
Day 7: Another Ponyville Pony (actually, a unicorn this time), Sweetie Belle.
Day 8: A small plastic 'package' (w/ sticker mailing label) and a small sheet of 6 cardboard 'letters' to punch out
Day 9: A pair of white plastic wings for the ponies
Day 10: A purple plastic 'skirt' for the ponies
Day 11: 2 pink perfume atomizers and a tiny basket
Day 12: A pink & white striped pony hat
Day 13: A tiny white bird
Day 14: A tiny pink punch set, complete with punch bowl, ladle, and 2 cups
Day 15: 2 slices of cake on plates
Day 16: 2 cocoa mugs topped w/ whipped cream and a tiny tray (hard to use w/ mugs though)
Day 17: A pink plastic present box w/ cookies inside (permanently, formed on the bottom of the box)
Day 18: A pink plastic camera
Day 19: 2 tiny picture frames w/ pony pic stickers
Day 20: 2 tiny pony necklaces (1 white w/ a heart, 1 pink w/ a flower) and a ??? (it's a larger dark pink flower w/ a heart drop, and a 'post' in the back; not sure where it's intended to attach?)
Day 21: A small santa hat for a ponyville pony
Day 22: A set of shoes (4) to match the santa hat; red w/ white trim
Day 23: A little plastic carton of milk, a pink plastic 'glass,' and a little green plastic plate with 3 heart-shaped cookies permanently affixed
Day 24: Another Ponyville Pony - Minty this time!

I will continue to update til we've made it through the whole calendar, but so far we're happy with what we're getting (especially for what we paid).

Alright, done now and still happy! Between my girls we did this one and a LPS advent, and I have to say I think this one was nicer - less cardboard, more plastic (not that plastic's the mark of quality, but it'll hold up to play better than the cardboard of some of the LPS pieces). This one also had more 'sets' like the milk/glass/cookies and the punchbowl/ladle/cups. But, for the clearance price we got them for last year, I'm pretty happy with both of them!

4 out of 5 stars My 4 year old looked forward to this toy every day in Dec.   November 2, 2009
Laurie Geodakov (Bellevue, WA)
We bought this advent calendar for 2008 for my then 4-year-old daughter. She loved finding and opening the window for each day. Some of the windows were a little tough to open, and sometimes I would find it and get it started for her. She loved most of the surprises - 3 ponies, lots of seasonal food items like dishes with gingerbread cookies, and cute "clothing" like red and white boots, a red hat and scarf, etc. There were some duds too, like stickers. But overall she loved it and really looked forward to it every morning. We even took it to Grandma's on the 23rd when we left for xmas vacation.
The real surprise is that she plays with many of the toys even now, almost a full year later. We still have the little shoe sets, food things, and hat and scarf. So overall the toy was pretty durable.
I just wish I could find a 2009 version! We might switch to Legos or Playmobil this year. Hasbro - get on the ball! Don't you expect little girls to love My Little Ponies for more than one year?

5 out of 5 stars Little Ponies Galore!   October 24, 2009

We bought this for our four-year-old girl and she LOVED IT! Every day is something new and exciting (stickers, food items, even a little Santa hat for the ponies). It came with three ponies after all was said and done, plus loads of "accessories" for the ponies. Some people have expressed discontent with some of the items from day to day, but for $12 you simply can't beat it. Our daughter was thrilled everyday and this was the first thing she wanted to do everyday. Highly recommended. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.

4 out of 5 stars Christmas countdown with the Ponies   April 7, 2009
Patricia A. Schmidt Powers (MN USA)
My daughter had so much fun counting down to Christmas. She would sometimes open more than 1. We had to open it in the morning because she was too excited to go to bed if we opened it then.
