The new packaging eliminates 5 pieces of packaging, including 792 square inches of paper, 29 square inches of PVC plastic, and 30 inches of twist ties. This item ships in its own box, without the need for an additional shipping box.
Adventures on the high seas abound with the Fisher Price Imaginext Adventures Pirate Ship. Designed for children ages three and older, the pirate ship comes complete with its own pirates, treasure, and more -- ready to sail where your child's imagination takes it! Plenty of Imaginative Action The pirates have plenty to do, thanks to special "action points" all over the ship. Your child can simply place a pirate on one of the ship's five special areas, turn the figure, and watch the action! The pirates can lower the ship's sails, drop the anchor, and fire the three hidden cannons. Two pirates can even fight a duel, and the captain can extend the plank for some unlucky soul to walk. Built Tough for Adventurous Journeys Like all Fisher Price toys, the Adventures Pirate Ship is built tough, with larger pieces that are easier and safer for little hands to manipulate. It includes three pirates with interchangeable hats and swords, a treasure map, treasure chest filled with treasure, and a cannon that really works. Additional accessories are sold separately. Your child will have hours of fun entering an imaginary world of adventure. However, pirates should use this ship on an imaginary sea only -- it's not built for use in real water. The pirate ship measures about 19 by 7.5 by 18.5 inches. It does not require any batteries. What's in the Box Pirate ship, 2 pirates with interchangeable hats and swords, and treasure chest with treasure.

Disgusted November 13, 2009 l_bon (Middletown, NJ) I added this to my child's wish list last week at the cost of $35. Now it doubled in price.
It was the hit of the party! November 10, 2009 B. Campbell (Bonney Lake, WA) I purchased this for my nephew's 3rd birthday. He has a fascination with pirates right now & this was a perfect gift.
He opened it and he was instantly fascinated (as was his 1 year old sister). There are some small parts but my niece has never been one to put toys in her mouth. It was almost hard for him to play with since all the adult boys at the party were just as fascinated playing with it.
It's a durable piece and I really like so many of the toys in the Imaginext line. (He also has the Dragon castle, Royal coach, and several dinosaurs, and dragons). These toys keep him engaged and his imagination comes out to play every time!
Fisher-Price Imaginext Adventures Pirate Ship November 4, 2009 Linda M. Horning (Terre Hill, PA) I bought this toy on the recommendations of a co-worker, who purchased it for her grandsons. I gave it to my grandson for his 4th birthday. It is the first thing he plays with in the morning and the first toy he goes to when he comes home from daycare. It is always in motion and in everyone's walkways. There was virtually no assembly required, so he did not have to sit patiently while it was put together before he could play with it. It is durable and has seen many rough seas since arriving at his house. The imagination and role playing that this toy has fostered is amazing. It's a win, win toy for any little boy.
Definitely got our money's worth October 29, 2009 Tams (St Louis, MO) We got this for our son when he was 3 years old. He's now almost 5 and still plays with this ship at least 3 times per week. We have had nothing but good luck with all of the Imaginext toys we've purchased and I am always excited to see a new one.
As all of the Imaginext people are interchangeable on the toys, he likes to use his Imaginext Batman from the Batcave as the head Pirate, and have him fight off the "bad guys" which consist of the Imaginext pirates, Joker, Penguin and even the Imaginext Jungle figures. Worth every penny!
Great toy for a preschool boy! October 19, 2009 M. Alderfer (Philadelphia, PA) I bought this pirate ship for my 3 year old son's birthday. He has really enjoyed playing with it - making the pirates talk, finding the treasure, and making different parts of the ship move. I like that it encourages him to use his imagination to make up a story. I do think the cannon is a little touchy. Sometimes the middle cannonball shoots when you haven't touched the button. Also it is too hard for him to put the loaded cannon in the ship without the balls shooting out. Maybe when he's older he'll be able to do it. I appreciate that the ship is sturdy enough that my 1 year old can bang it and lean on it without breaking it. I was a bit frustrated that the "add on" sets were so expensive, but I think the ship is a good value.
