Whether invented by a French aristocrat imprisoned in the Bastille, entrapped native-Americans, or the prisoners in the court of Louis XIV one thing is clear, whoever invented this strategy game had a lot of free time and had to spend many days alone. Perfect entertainment for one, win by jumping one peg over another and removing the peg previously jumped over, thus trying to eliminate all the pegs until just one remains in the lower right corner. If you succeed and still have too much time alone, try analyzing play to win in just 18 moves! If you succeed in this, you can probably add plenty of insights to that classic puzzling page-turner "The Ins and Outs of Peg Solitaire", a painstakingly researched book whose author John Beasley clearly spent a lot of time alone. 8.5" Diameter.

the game is well made, but you should not that it does not come with wooden circles instead it comes with your everyday small cheap marbles. but the base is made from wood, it is smaller than expected but over all very nice.
