Very Solid Electornic Light Saber... Two exception... November 2, 2009 Jean-Etienne LaVallee (Richmond, VA USA) The build and light/sound quality of this is great. Takes a good beating and has a realistic set of "turn-on", "turn-off", "swing", and "clash" sounds. Compared to the Rubies costume sabers, this model is rock-solid (Rubies' accessories are quite junky, even if they are cheap).
Two exceptions: 1) The lowest segment of the "blade" never retracts, I think this was to make room in the handle for the sound and motion electronics, but I've seen newer models that retract completely, 2) It turns off after about 3 minutes of not being used... this is great if you're in constant saber battles, but really? couldn't this have been a bit longer?
All and all, a great toy w/o the price of the replica models.

The Action lightsaber is a fun toy and fills fantasy children because it is similar to effects and size to original swords of star wars, is it bought to my son and is happy with their ligthsaber action obi-wan.
Broken in a week May 8, 2009 Asclepius This toy is fragile. It stopped working within a week. The "Force Action" effect refused to lock into place and had to be manually pulled out after only a few hours play. By the end of the week it would turn on, but not off. A total waste of money.
Star Wars Force Action Light Saber February 7, 2009 Emily J. Young (Mount Orab, OH) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My boys each received one of these for Christmas, and they absolutely loved them! However, they are not very durable at all. I had to send one of them back because, after a couple days, it wouldn't extend any more. They refunded my money, but then I had to reorder. My kids had a blast with them, and the idea is a good one, but the durability is a drawback.
Great gift for boys January 12, 2009 camiladawg (New Orleans, LA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the Vader and Obi-Wan lightsabers for 2 boys (ages 5 and 8). They love them and play with them all the time. They were a little pricier on Amazon than other retailers but the convenience outweighed the difference for me. Absolutely no educational value whatsoever and I'm sure they won't last a year, but worth every penny.
