My 5 yr old has had this since xmas and it is still played with frequently. It is quite large. The truck dumps trash from the containers, then you turn the handle and the trash goes into the truck. Open the back and raise it like a dump truck to unload. Even my 2 year old can do it without problem. Is the plastic flimsy in some spots like the mirrors and doors? Yes. But I am training my children to take care of their toys and not be destructive. Most toys today have a cheaper quality to them than when I was a kid. I had looked at the Tonka version at the store before purchasing this, and their trucks were even flimsier than this one was. So glad I purchased this one instead. Not all toys need to make noise. The only thing missing is a garbage man, but just find an action figure that fits in there and the kids love it.

I purchased this truck for my 3 yr.old son for his birthday. He really liked the truck but some of the parts on the truck broke off within a few days of play. It is a o.k truck but it could be more sturdy.

I bought this truck for my 21 month old son even though it is for ages 3+ because he loves garbage trucks. It's a really nice truck, but I do think that he needs to be supervised when he's playing with it because there are small pieces that could break off if he's too rough with it. He loves to dump in trash (we use crinkled up pieces of paper), turn the crank to make it disappear inside the truck and then open up the truck to get the trash out. The hood and doors also open on this truck. This truck is really nice and I think my son will play with it for years.
