I found how to fix it!!!! February 14, 2009 Happy mom (Illinois) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughters system stopped working after only 2.5 months. So I looked for troubleshooting solution in internet. That what worked for us." Remove the batteries from the system....hold down the power button for a 45 sec to minute, reinsert the batteries and it should work. " I hope it will work for you too :-)
My daughter loves the Vsmile January 16, 2009 Susan (Colorado) I bought this for my daughter last Christmas, and have since added several games for her to play with. She is 5, and loves them all. Most of the games have an area where they can choose educational games to play, but she usually goes for the ones that are more fun than learning. Lately, though, she's getting the educational part down now being in Kindergarten. I wish I would've know they'd be discontinuing this system this year, as now it's harder to find the games for this one. The new handheld has a flip open screen, which might break easier, to me. This one is durable. and well built. It does not come with the power cord adapter, so you have to buy it for an additional $10-12, unless you want to burn through batteries like crazy.
Great toy, if it weren't for the horrible screen January 5, 2009 duhh33 Our kids have had a V.Smile for a number of years, we graduated to the pocket this year. Obviously we knew exactly what to expect from an educational and entertainment perspective, there is clearly no difference there. The screen on this machine is horribly disappointing though. There is a lot of ghosting on the screen, etc. LCD tech in this thing reminds me of the poor quality TFTs that were being produced about 15 years ago.
VSmile pocket December 31, 2008 T. Maldonado (Austin, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this hand held video game console for my 4 and 5 year old daughters; mostly because they already use the VSmile video game and enjoy it. I really like that they can use the same game cartridges for both, which seriously cuts down on the expense of purchasing games. So far, this has been the hit of Christmas. They already were familiar with the format of the games so the learning curve was very shallow. Being able to take the games with them to different areas of the house (like their room) has really been a big plus. They can't really play two player like they do with the stationery console but that really hasn't been an issue.
My Daughter Loves Her Vsmile Pocket October 30, 2008 Celi O (Arizona) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My daughter got this game from her grandparents for Christmas 2 years ago and she loves it! I read the reviews and noticed people were having trouble with it shutting itself off and stopped working, we have had it shut itself off a few times but usually was because batteries were low so once we replaced them or plugged it in it was fine. It does go through batteries kind of quickly. But the games are great and my daughter loves it. It is great for long car rides, travling by plane or going to a resturant or some other place they need to sit queitly! It seems to be pretty durable my daughter has dropped hers several times and it is still working. My newphew also got one and his is still working too. The price has come down now too so when this one dies I will defineitely be buying another one!
